Sorry to contradict, but unless you're using Dolby Vision*, these settings can't possibly do anything else other than change as defined. * Dolby doesn't allow change of these parameters. It's a Dolby control thing which used to have a valid argument but not any more.....
Well not so much a contradiction as a clarification. Yes most of what I was watching was in DV when I tried to use the function and since nothing was happening, it was an easy leap to think it wasnt enabled. However I did try on some SDR content and can confirm it does work appropriately. Thanks for explaining.
