The biggest sign that something's amiss was when Dune released two budget OEM TVs with a Dune app on them - Being a small company with nowhere else to go if the STB SoC market dries up, this is kind of a knee jerk reaction to generate more revenue with very little work.

But it's a short sighted move - I'm not sure how the TV market works in Russia, but certainly in Asia and the West, people love and take pride in their TVs - they're not going to replace their Sonys, LGs, Samsungs etc etc with a cheap no-name OEM just because it has a Dune app on it. But I understand why they did it, they had no-where else to go, and that worries me.

Dune and R_Vols frankenbox (which is basically a 928 mainboard with a separate 905 board strapped to it by USB) is another example - it feels like they're flogging a dying horse.

But I've been wrong before, so I hope I am this time too...

What i say is that zidoo should fix their mediaplayer (music player 8) or release a working device with all music standards. Atmos, flac, dts etc.

Yeah, that's my case as well plus some random reboots most probably attributable to NAS wifi miss-connection IMO.

    I had a reboot while watching a movie and I don't have a NAS

Wow, I've never got a reboot while watching a movie but at the beginning and mostly when opening/synchronising the Denon AVR. Last night I've got one of them. It seems the AML SoC has changed freezes by reboots which less frustrating.

I don't think a new zidoo is needed atm. My Z30 Pro running great for me at least.

This apparent lack of new Zidoo products in the video perhaps indicates a shift towards audiophile equipment.
Having an Eversolo DMP-A6 ME Gen2.
I've noticed that the brand has released a number of new products in just one year: the DMP-A6 (ME) Gen2, PLAY(CD), T8, Z10, and LUXIN 8.

I think they just need to ditch this chipset along with 8K video resolution, switch to a soc they can develop stable firmwares for and they will have another winner on their hands...

Still no new Zidoo and still no new firmware for 8K.
On the other hand, Eversolo continues to offer features like the new T10 (Streaming Transport) even though the T8 is not due until 2025.

I think Zidoo/Eversolo has found its future in audio and perhaps in abandoning video players altogether.

If ZIDOO could make even fewer new devices than EVERSOLO, which presented 8 today, June 4th, in Vienna

They simply understood that the Eversolo and HiFi products yield a much higher profit than the Zidoo media player line, and so they invest endlessly in these products!
