New UHD8000: Remote STOP button issues

Received and setup my brand new UHD8000, updated FW "online" to 1.2.22 (says this is the latest, even though 1.2.40 is apparently out now), scanned my library and starting playing...

...And I noticed the UHD8000 doesn't respond to the "STOP" button IR signal most of the time, neither the factory remote or my Harmony Elite Hub remote, so it's not an issue with the physical remote.

It DOES, however, respond to the "BACK" button IR signal every single time, so this is now how I have to stop video playback by pressing the Back button twice. Aggravating.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? If not, what FW version or you at?

 

From what I find, it's the same remote as on my Z3000 Pro (the V12). I didn't even know their remotes had stop buttons. I've always used the back button (for 5.5 years, previously with the Z1000 Pro). I use mine via Bluetooth instead of IR, for what it's worth.

Which button is the stop button?

 

It should be the "Square-ish" icon right above the play/pause button: two rows up from the directional key "wheel."

Regarding Bluetooth, are you saying you connect your factory remote to the UHD8000 via Bluetooth, or are you using an aftermarket remote that connects via Bluetooth?

I didn't know the UHD8000 has Bluetooth capabilities...

 

The backside of the V12 has instruction to connect with Bluetooth.
I think "STOP" button worked on my UHD8000 with any fw.

 

I figured you meant that button, but it hadn't occurred to me to try it before. I'll try to remember to, later. Since the V12 handles both IR and Bluetooth, I followed the instructions on the back to pair it via Bluetooth to my Z3000 Pro.

I would expect your much more expensive UHD8000 to have Bluetooth - I think all of the Zidoo devices do, although not necessarily all Zidoo remotes, but the V12 definitely does.

I found the "Bluetooth" setting. The remote was already "working" out-of-the-box, but I'm not sure it's via IR or Bluetooth. I haven't messed with the Bluetooth settings yet.

 

Just cover the front IR window of the remote with hand and try to press buttons then you'll see.

 

I'm very sure my V12 for the Z3000 Pro was working in IR mode, not Bluetooth, before I paired it via the latter.
