I just bought a Seagate Exos X16 (16TB) hdd for my Z100Pro. I put the new drive in an old USB enclosure, connected it to my pc. I initialized the disk (GPT) and formatted it as NTFS. ChatGPT suggested that I used 128K allocation size instead of the "default" (4K). This might be the issue then? I started transferring a few movies over to the new drive in the USB enclosure, but it was too slow (USB2), So I connected both drive to internal SATA pluds in my PC motherboard and transferred files from my old hdd from the Z1000PRO to the new Seagate drive (took many hours). I plugged the new Seagate drive into the Zidoo, and it is not recognised... After reading a post here (http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?threads/16tb-hdd-not-recognized.94430/), I put it back into my PC and saw, that there was a small hidden parition of 15 MB infront og the GPT partion. I removed that small partition, but the drive is still not recognised by Zidoo. I am running out of ideas. Is there any ways I can make Zidoo see my new hdd without having to reformat it? And how should I reformat it? I can't remember what i did with my WD red which was in my Zidoo before. I think I might have just plugged it into Zidoo and let that format the drive, but ChatGPT adviced me to format the new drive in my PC via windows disk manager, so that is what i did. So should I?: 1) Bite the bullet and reformat the new hdd in my pc, using default allocation 2) Delete the parition on the hdd in windows and format the hdd in the Zidoo
Right, I tested on another old hdd I had laying around. Formatted it wth 4K allocation, it was seen by Zidoo. Formatted it wth 128K allocation, it was NOT seen by Zidoo. So I guess I has for re-format my new hdd... sigh Luckily I was smart enough to copy the content from my old zidoo hdd and not move it, so just anout 12 hours and not 24 hours of transfering
