Hi, thanks for update. After installing new version of app and update fw, two things happened: 1. Some strange bug occured in the cast mode (ANDROID phone), even if i exit cast mode and back again (see attached pic). 2. I have 2 folders in my external storage music. One named and tagged (as name of artist) Various Artists and second named and tagged Various Artists 80's. In previous versions A6 recognise both folders separately, but now i have only one folder named Various Artists (without 80's) and inside all albums of both folders. Seems to me that new fw version don't read numbers in tagged names of artist. That's happened also with the songs with number in the name of song too.
Hi Eversolo, Could we please have volume control from Iphone. Volume control either airplay or Spotify connect doesn't work at all at the moment. Thanks
First issue, kill the controller app completely and launch again. Worked for me, never happened again.
Of course. Here they are. Pic 1 files explorer in normal mode, pic 2 files explorer in cast mode, pic 3 library in normal mode, pic 4 library in cast mode. You will see 2 folders (Various Artists and Various Artists 80's) in explorer mode and only one folder in library (with both folder albums in there). Everything is tagged correct like it should be and like in file explorer. First FW version have recognise both folders as it is in explorer.
I believe it was the same in previous versions, the music library had its own way of organizing data which relied mostly on ID3 information rather than folder names.
No it's not about folders, and ID3 tag artist in one folder is named (tagged) as "Various Artists" and in second "Various Artists 80's", Work everywhere (for example Kodi etc.). Here are my ID3 (tagged) - organised pics examples. There are tagged two totally different artists with only similar names, as we can see ID3 information si different.
Airplay cast from other devices to the DMP-A6 - checked Correct handling of PERFORMER tag in cue files - checked Different types of sorting albums for an artist(name, release date) - not checked
@mirror will there be an android tablet version of the controller app out soon? one that would make use of the full size of the screen?
So I’m on vacation and would not be back until the first week of July, does this new firmware solved the problem of Airplay not showing album art?
The online update is being pushed in stages, not everyone receives it yet. If you want to update now, download from the link, put it into a USB disk (do not unzip) and update manually. https://music.eversolo.com/dmp/ota/DMP_A6/v1.1.70/DMP-A6_R_v1.1.70_202306211805_ota-package.zip
Having now transfered all my music onto the internal ssd, not all album artwork is present, the artwork is embedded into each track using MP3tag. All correct because had no issues with other players including the rasberry pi. Also playing sacd iso not play a complete album without a slight sound distortion for a second or two.
Please detail this. Did not try with this FW version. But SACD ISO played just fine for me (2CH via internal DAC and MCH via HDMI). Don't try playing SACD ISO with something running in the background. It uses a lot of processor power above all in MCH and even worse with PCM output.
First time was finishing of a scan so waited but made no difference, nothing running in the background. Will try a different iso album later to make sure was not ripped correctly. The album artwork is annoying i would say 20% no covers despite embedded in the tracks.
There is something with the way embedding (or tagging in general is done). If I remove the embedded cover and re-insert it then it is suddenly found. Did not dig deeper to find out what the difference is. MP on Zidoo has that same problem. It is not the only Music APP having troubles here (there seem to be dialects used for tagging).
More often is wrong tagging; so when you remove and add again, the software you are using takes care of re-writing the correct metadata tag, fixing the thing.
I only can agree with that. Now for an APP that will do tag correction with bulk input. My first real dedicated music player in 1998 was my good old OSCAR (Optical Storage Compressed Audio Reader). It can read MP3 from CD/DVD discs plus a HDD and having a graphical front panel (4x 32 characters) and still works. My collection MP3 albums where then all down converted to IDv1 tags as it had troubles reading IDv2 tags.
