On most streaming services the down button during playback shows the play bar and info. It would be great if this was an option on the Zidoo box so it was consistent behaviour with other UI/remotes. Even better if it could identify the actors and music onscreen like Apple TV and Amazon Prime too
I want the down button to skip backwards by a configurable amount. Similarly I want the up button to skip forward by a separately configurable value. Same for left/right - just like Beyonwiz players do. That way I could configure: Up button: seek +60 seconds Right button: seek +12 seconds Left button: seek -6 seconds Down button: seek -30 seconds OK button: First press: show infobar Second press: show extended info Third press: hide infobar Once you get used to this button assignment, it is hard to accept anything else. Seeking around in a file and finding a point of interest (or re-watching a passage) is very intuitive and can be very precise. For example pressing right then left straight away is the same as skip forward +6 seconds. As @Netmask will probably agree, the ability to configure each button independently is a great feature and many users like to tweak each value to suit their own habits.
Hi Peter, that was one of the first things I asked for a couple of years ago after I got my Zidoo. Alas still waiting. The numerical keys work the same as the BW. Pity they don’t open up the system even in a limited way to allow user improvements. F
Thanks Mark, I was aware of these however my 'muscle memory' from using various streaming services causes me to press the down button for info - but on the Zidoo I keep rewinding As the option to customise the direction buttons already exists, I was hoping it would be a simple matter to add this.
