Well, thanks a lot for your input, but I'm still confused.
An ALR screen with a gain of 1.2 is not good for a dark room?
I used to think ALR offers better blacks...
I've been using an LG OLED TV for the past 6-7 years, and hence, the the projector's blacks are bothering my eyes. I need better blacks with this projector.

Don't know much about the gain value of the screens, but it seems like the greater value is better...
    Cine-White gain is 1.1
    ALR Grey gain is 1.2
Silver Grey ALR gain is 1.5

In this case, how come Cine-White is better?

The manufacturer suggested Silver ALR for my need. I think it's the safe choice between ALR-Grey and Cine-White.

ALR is designed for rooms with ambient light - ALR = Ambient Light Reflecting/Rejecting.

It's supposed to reflect ambient light off axis and increase on axis reflections from the projector. Rooms with ambient light are terrible for contrast ratio in projection and ALR is an attempt to improve matters.

It's a bit of a compromise and that's not needed in a dark room where more traditional projection is more appropriate. But remember if the projector can't produce decent blacks, there's very little a screen can do to remedy that, but perhaps an ALR screen will produce improvements in that case.

It's hellishly complicated so I'm not surprised it's confusing - I've spent a whole career in this arena and it's never a black and white decision (excuse the pun).

Contacted Big Vue screens; they seemed shady, as the screens(ALR Grey m High constrast Silver) the seller is providing are not listed on the official site.
Any good screen recommendations you have for my needs? Anything, including DIY paint or cloth screens?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

I'm probably a bit out of touch these days - we used to use Stewart Screens (probably the best), Screenline (Good screens, but we had a problem with rippling on multi aspect screens once), and Screen Research (This was when they were a little French Company but they went bust and are now made in Poland I believe - I've no idea how good they are these days).

It's probably a good idea to post on AVS and ask there for more up to date info.

I'm pretty sure Stewart are still the best but they are mad expensive.

Actually, painting a wall might be a good option with the right screen paint and the right application method - If you do that, make sure the wall is a dark colour and frame the painted area with a wooden frame (at least 6 inches wide) covered in black velvet for the best contrast.

I just looked at Screenline's website - they don't have prices but they were by far the cheapest between them, Stewart and Screen Research.

They do some nice fixed screens:

I'm using a projector, which is about 800 dollars. It's not a high-end projector, so I'm not sure whether to invest a significant amount in a projector screen.
Amazon India has several screen options that are a bit pricey for me but only has a replacement policy and no returns, so I can't order multiple screens to test personally.

So I think that your budget should be in the region of $1000. You should be able to get a decent fixed screen for that price - As I say, you should ask on AVS - there are plenty of dealers on there who I'm sure would be happy to help.

Not really happy with BenQ TH 575's blacks, Using an ALR screen helps improve blacks?

Also, do you think the BenQ TH575 is a decent projector for watching movies?

Blacks are all about contrast and even with an ALR screen you'll struggle without light control. As I've said, the darkest black a projector can produce is white so any ambient light is an issue.

I don't have any experience with BENQ projectors - I've used JVCs for years.

Pardon me for posting this here, but since I have no other support/forum, hence... Since you know that my soundbar does not support eARC, I need an HDMI audio extractor.
The below 3 options are available in my location.
Can you please help me with which one will work in my case with the Zidoo Z9X Pro?
This might be a little trouble to you, but please do some research and let me know.
    Thanks!

I have no experience of any of those products, so although on the face of it they should all work, I can't make a recommendation because I've never used them.

What I will say is that these devices can mess EDID up sometimes, but that's not an issue with Zidoo boxes because you can load your own if you need to.

Personally I would always recommend HDFury devices for messing with HDMI - I've never used them for audio extraction, but for example my Vertex 2 has an audio HDMI output - and you get great support from them on both AVS and their own Discord server. But I appreciate they're expensive. But there's a reason for that.

    Well, I appreciate your help.
Unfortunately, HDfury devices are not available in India.

I was about to order OREI 8K eARC HDMI Audio Extractor (BK-927) but found this on their official site. What does it mean? Will it work with my soundbar or not?

If your soundbar has an HDMI input then it should work.
