Hello everyone,

So recently I've purchased this Atmos soundbar that has only an HDMI ARC port, and now I'm using a projector setup that has two HDMI IN and no HDMI OUT.
I'm using an HDMI splitter (isn't that the only option I have in order to get high-quality audio?) to separate sound and video.
Now the projector is working fine, and its 10-watt speaker is also working, but no audio is coming from the soundbar.
Now the connection topology is that Zidoo's output is connected to HDMI splitter, and its two outputs are connected to 1. Projector (working) and 2. Soundbar (not working).

Am I doing anything wrong? Do I need to change any settings from Zidoo Z9X pro? New to this thing, never used any soundbar before, so I don't know. I hope someone from this forum helps me out.

What exact splitter are you using?
You need some HDMI audio deembedder/extractor device.
Like Spacetronik SPH-RAE04 4K 4/1 HDMI audio deembedder/extractor.

Also you will need probably to temporarily disable forcing the usage of saved/stored EDID (if you are doing it now). Since the new setup/connections = the new EDID. You must let z9x pro to detect 2 devices (saved EDID prevents that)... And once it's working ok (video and audio on target devices) let it save as the new EDID that can be forced later again (since if not, then your setup will be affected by the random order you are powering up those 4 devices). Maybe you will also need to edit this EDID.

 

Tried using these two HDMI splitters, but no luck. Nothing worked in my case.
I also tried connecting the soundbar directly to the Zidoo, but there was no audio output.

Do I need to use an "HDMI audio deembedder/extractor device" ?

Any other option to get high-quality audio to the soundbar?

The sense of entitlement with that statement is obvious..like you expect to be put to the head of the line.. My first thought was to offer a suggestion, but nope. You don't demand help, you ask for it.. Sometimes we all have to actually put forth some effort and figure out some things first and then politely list all that you have tried and ask for help in general.

 

Oh no...nothing like that...trust me.... I'm from India, and my English is not good, so most of the time I use some translators... Yes, I mostly tag marks because I want immediate help. Maybe I'm not old enough on this forum to understand basic etiquette.

Not sure how to help more. Is the soundbar working ok with other devices? Check the specification of the soundbar what kind of HDMI version/signal it accepts. Maybe it accepts only 1080p or 720p resolution so can't process 4k correctly to de-embed the audio from it? Or maybe it's only dedicated for ARC/eARC HDMI signal... So many options and unknowns.
Also BASIC setting to change at Z9x Pro is to go to audio section and set it to RAW.

 

Soundbar is working fine when connected to the TV HDMI ARC. My biggest concern is directly connecting zidoo to soundbar is fine or fo i need hdmi audio extractor?
