Hello all, I’ve had my A6 for about six months and loving it! Just recently, it has started randomly stopping playback in the middle of the song. This happens with Qobuz, Paradise, radio and Spotify connect. My unit is plugged directly into my router. No Internet issues at my home. Anyone else experiencing these problems?

Switch between my A6 and the router, Amazon Music HD, no issues whatsoever. I know this is not helping much but is valid data point :)

Start with a factory reset. Looks like an instability to me.

I’ve tried that to no avail. In fact, I’ve tried about everything I could think of. I’ve switched the ethernet cable. Plug that directly into my router bypassing the ethernet switcher I have. Thought maybe it was my iPad or iPhone interfering somehow so I started paradise radio turn those devices off and it still did it,There appears to be no rhyme or reason as to when or why it does this. Sometimes it will do it five times in a row, sometimes it’ll play for an hour and then do it. I’ve had this unit for about three months with no problems whatsoever and this has cropped up recently. I’m wondering now if I might have a defective unit.

"I’ve tried that to no avail" ?
The factory reset did not work? Looks like a memory corruption to me.

    Interesting post.
I've also been suffering random stops on payback.

Worked out that the fridge turning of and on (or door being opened) was the cause, as hifi equipment are on same circuit. This was occurring despite having a Thor power station connected.

Changing the hifi equipment to other circuit in house fixed issue.

So maybe any fluctuation in power is issue??.

Thanks for the advice! I will give another plug a shot. I discovered today that after a reset and connecting to Wi-Fi and not ethernet, the unit played all day. I have not done this in the past and apparently you cannot control the unit with an iPad or another device, only the controls on the front of the unit. In the evening, I switched it back to ethernet and got the stoppage of playback. To me, the problem seems to be related to the ethernet. I have no problems with any other device in my house. I have already switched out the cable And tested the speed at my house which is good.
Thanks again for your help. I have an email into tech-support, but have not heard back yet.

Obviously errors on Ethernet may trigger playback problems but those may never result in the player crashing. Error handling is then faulty. So definitely a case to look at by Eversolo.

Have seen earthing problems in my house in the past. Connecting everything interconnected by USB or HDMI to the same group and if possible same socket for sure helps. Changed my stereo tower to all earthed for my HDMI connected to my tower PC as that was floating. Analog RCA is capacitor coupled but both HDMI and USB are hard coupled to the chassis ground. Also use a dedicated extra Ethernet switch for my Stereo tower plus PC. No problems since then anymore.

Hello, I have the same problem too. With the ethernet connection the unit randomly disconnect from the network, and can not reconnect until i restart the unit. I use it with static IP-address. The unit with WIFI works perfect, without issue.

Well, I solved the problem. I was convinced it was not my Internet as I can watch TV with no issues whatsoever. All my speed test looks good. I ended up switching out the router and the problem seems to be solved. There were something my router was doing to pause the A6. I don’t pretend understand why this happened but a new router seems to have solved my issue.

I had the same problem randomly cutting out, I have very high speed internet so couldn’t workout what was going on as all my other wi fi stuff works fine, someone on here said it must be a network problem so I bought a network booster with Ethernet port using this the A6 now works fine

I have the exact same problem, but a reboot of the eversolo aint enough, I need to do a factory reset to get ethernet connection again. Then after a coupe of hours it disconnect again… Tried different cables and rebooting the router, and both dhcp on and off.

Anyone got any response from eversolo about it? The wifi connection works perfectly even with hi-res so no problems to use the streamer, but it feels better to have ethernet connection

I too am having connectivity issues. I have tried a router reboot. WIFI then ethernet then back to wifi. I have tried the A6 on a dedicated circuit but still keeps losing the connection? Does anyone else here have another suggestion?

Okay, I have to ask. Why does the ethernet connection feel better? Other than the fact that wi-fi connections can be hacked and can suffer from wireless propagation or interference, if it is working well on wi-fi but not on a wired ethernet connection suggests to me that there is an issue with the latter. There can be many reasons why your ethernet connection isn't working satisfactorily. These may include -
    • a faulty port on the router / network switch
    • faulty router or network switch
    • faulty patch panel or telecommunication outlet (TO) socket(s)
    • faulty patch cable
    • faulty cabling - this can include incorrect, faulty or poor termination techniques, cable has become crushed or damaged (often a problem in DIY installations)
    • cabling or patch leads running to close to a source of interference (LED SMPS, some transformers, laser printers, insect zappers, mains cabling, etc)
    • faulty ethernet port on the DMP-A6 (may be the actual connector, dry solder joint on the PCB or the ethernet chip itself).

Do other ethernet connected devices connected via the same router, cabling, patch leads etc have the same drop out issues as your DMP-A6? If, not I'd suspect the problem is with the DMP-A6. However, without conducting proper ethernet tests on your network it's difficult to diagnose by proxy.

Interim suggestion: Try assigning a fixed IP address in your router for your DMP-A6. It might solve the issue, but then again it might not. Worth a try seeing you've tried just about everything else. In the meantime just use it on wi-fi. That part isn't broken so it doesn't need to be fixed.
