    Hello,

Anyone experiencing pops when there is a song change using spotify connect?

Is this an issue or is there a setting that can resolve this?

At loud volume the pop is a bit concerning.

Hi, do you still have that problem you mentioned above? Could you find a solution?

I'm experiencing occasional popping sounds in the bass frequencies, they disappear when i restart the T8, but they are very annoying and could potentially damage my speakers.
I hope this can be fixed.

    This sounds rather serious.

I’m not experiencing it. What DAC are you using? What connection? I2S can be finicky if that is what you are using. If you are, try USB to see if it goes away.

I use tidal and qobus connect, I too experience occasionally a pop at the start of a song. I did some research and I think it happens when audio formats or different resolutions of recordings from one song to the next occurs. I do wish I knew how to fix this though?

What connection do you use from T8 to your DAC?

I had the exact same issue with my Eversolo T8 transport and a vintage DAC (DPA Bigger Bit). The 'loud pops' were occurring specifically during Apple Music playback. I tried all the standard menu settings, but none of them worked.
My Diagnosis: The root cause is a momentary loss of digital signal between tracks. When the stream breaks for a fraction of a second, the DAC loses its clock lock. When the signal returns abruptly, it causes a DC-like spike that DACs without muting relays (like mine or maybe yours) amplify as a loud pop.
The Solution: I requested a Beta firmware that addresses this by implementing a continuous digital signal (keeping the clock active between songs). Additionally, this firmware allows you to force a fixed output (e.g., 44.1kHz or 48kHz at 16-bit or 24-bit). Keeping the sampling rate and bit depth constant prevents the DAC from having to re-sync, which completely eliminates the pops.

This makes sense, I appreciate this. So by the sound of it, I should check for updates in my next listening session? Or, is there something specific I should be looking out for?
    Cheers

Just checking for standard updates won't work, as this specific fix is not yet in the official public release.
You need to look for two specific features in your audio settings. If you don't see them, you don't have the fix:
Continuous Digital Signal (Keep-Alive): A setting that prevents the streamer from dropping the signal/clock between tracks.
Forced Fixed Output: The ability to lock the output to a specific sampling rate (like 44.1kHz or 48kHz) and bit depth (16 or 24-bit) regardless of the source file.
If these are missing, you should contact Eversolo/Zidoo support directly. Tell them you are experiencing loud pops with your external DAC and ask specifically for the Beta firmware that includes 'Continuous Signal' and 'Fixed Output' settings.
Without this Beta, the streamer will keep 'dropping' the DAC connection between songs, and the pops will continue. Cheers!

Also can confirm the pops in the Qobuz build-in App, just infrequent (on some albums, at the beginning of track 1), in both L/R channels, but NOT loud, not a problem for the speakers but for the pleasure of listening.
My DAC is a semi-ancient Arcam D33 via coax.

Your Arcam D33, much like my DPA Bigger Bit, belongs to an era when digital sources (CD players) provided a constant, unbroken stream.
Even if your pops are 'not loud', they are caused by the same thing: the streamer dropping the digital carrier signal for a millisecond at the start of a track or during a sampling rate change. Your Arcam's old-school locking circuit struggles to re-sync instantly, resulting in that 'tick' or 'pop'.
The Beta firmware I mentioned solves this by keeping the digital signal/clock 'alive' between tracks (Continuous Signal). It turns your T8 into a 'constant' source, just like a high-end CD transport from the 90s. It’s not just about safety, it’s about that 'pleasure of listening' you mentioned—total black silence between tracks.

Ok, thank you for your reply! Totally agree with you, but I come from a-last-week-deceased Auralic Aries Femto on the same Qobuz service!
Same sampling rates changing, same output-SPDIF in my case.
Auralic gave a clever solution, by syncing streamer’s output with DAC’s input but I never used that in search for a purer signal as possible and it worked even so, without pops and any latency.
At Eversolo this process is I guess called Sample rate switch latency but I keep it by default at Oms for the same reason.
    Also I disabled Clock compensation.

I totally understand your 'purity' approach, but there’s a massive difference between how Auralic handles the stream and how Eversolo does it.
Auralic keeps the digital carrier signal much more stable during transitions. Eversolo, by default, completely 'cuts' the signal for a millisecond between tracks, and your Arcam D33 is being hit by a sudden burst of data without any 'warm-up' synchronization. This is exactly what causes the pop.
The 'Continuous Signal' feature from the Beta firmware does not degrade the signal; it simply prevents the streamer from 'cutting the wire' between songs. It keeps the clock locked. Auralic had its own buffering/sync solution for a reason. If you want Auralic-like stability on your Eversolo, you need the Beta firmware with the Continuous Signal setting. It gives you the purity you're looking for without the digital 'thumping' that could eventually stress your Arcam’s locking circuit or your speakers.

IMO, Eversolo T8 shoud have had this clock/signal lock from the beginning, not as future update by request!

I just installed ver. 1.5.75 with the new setting: Continuous output. I set mine to Original Sampling Rate, but I want to make sure it won’t degrade the sound quality which is more important than any pop or inconvenience. Kim, can you confirm that, please?

    Find the change log attached.
    Thank you!
