Loud cracking noise from the power amplifiers when switching on the Eversolo DMP-A6.

Does anyone have the same experience? Amplifiers are two Class D Mono Blocks.

Should not be normal, but happens when the device has access to the analog world - power spikes in the analog stages propagate to your amplifier, and reach your speakers at audible levels...
If this does persist for just the time you switch it on (it normally is so...), try to stick to the following rule of thumb:
Keep you amplifier / active speakers as the component being powered ON last. As well as powered OFF first.

If the noise persists until, say, up until you actually play something, then the problem is elsewhere and may need further investigation.

Hello Steffen, could you please provide more details?
    1. constant noise or only when you switch the status of playback?
    2. the input and your output method
    3. have you try another socket
    4. a video will be helpful for us to help you troubleshoot.

  4. I've also noticed the "cracking" noise every time the A6 is powered on. It's not loud, and has not really a problem - in fact it's a little feedback the reboot is starting. In case it helps, I'll also answer.
    1. Noise only during the power on sequence. But the noise is before the A6 is far along in the boot.
    2. Streaming, RCA analog output
    3. Another power socket does not matter
    4. I can take a video as well if it helps.

Thank you, Sarah. If you can take a video it will be helpful.

  6. It never occurred to me to complain about this transient "snap" or "click". It's not that loud, at least as how I have things set up: Max analog/digital volume: 0 db, Pass-through mode: OFF, Initial volume(s): DEFAULT

Typically I use up to full volume (0 db) on the A6 and power amp, with the preamp (ancient AVR at the moment) about -20db. It's set rather loud here to record the click, about -15db.

*** Sorry, I found after recording I cannot upload a movie. The forum no longer allows selecting MP4 or MOV suffixed files.

The click happens about 10 seconds after power on sequence begins. It is in both left & right channels.

Can you set your boot sequence to have the power-amp turn on the last...?

Thank you for all the details you provided : )
If it's convinient for you, you can paste a link from google drive etc.

  9. Sorry, I don't think it's worth the bother. The click is not annoying with my setup. If someone were to drive an amp directly with the A6 I suspect it may be much louder.

Since I hear the analog output relay turns on ~15 seconds after the click, I bet it's power supply related RF noise.

I would venture to suggest that since there is no such clicking sound when connecting via XLR, the problem may lie in the correct connection of the power supply to the outlet with the third ground wire connected.

Hi there, did you experience this issue?
At least the problem Sarah encountered might not be caused by this.

I notice that same sound, similar to when you plug in a jack to a live sound input *CRACK*

For other users encounter this issue, here are several steps as troubleshooting:
    1. Check and adjust the power-on/off sequence. Always power on the source device (DMP-A6) first, wait a moment for it to fully initialize, and then power on the amplifier(s). Reverse this order when shutting down: turn off the amplifier(s) first, then the DMP-A6.
    2. Inspect all cable connections. Securely reconnect the audio cables (RCA/XLR) between the DMP-A6 and the amplifier. If possible, try a different set of cables to rule out a connection or cable fault.
    3. Try a different output mode on the DMP-A6. If available, switch the output to Fixed Level (Line Out) mode instead of Variable Level (Pre-Out). Start with the volume at a low or medium setting before powering on the system.
    4. Simplify the power and grounding setup. Plug all devices (DMP-A6 and amplifiers) into the same power strip or outlet to minimize potential ground loops. For testing, disconnect any other non-essential audio/video equipment.
