If the audio comes in "earlier" than the video, then a delay option could see fit (as there is in the most famous and versatile media player: VLC). If the audio comes in "later" than the video... well, there is no such thing as a "negative delay" as it would be needed in such a scenario. I can just say one simple thing: coax / optical outputs usually have the least impact on audio-video desynching. (e)ARC depends on implementation, and in most cases I hear that synch problems are still there. Not always. Not all brands. But still... Never forget, though, that the device itself is an "audio player". See it this way: it was never (NEVER) designed with audio-video sich in mind. This meaning that you can stream audio content from your AmazonMusic account through your TV to the Eversolo. Painlessly. Just the audio. No video whatsoever involved here. Your complaind has a point, indeed, but... there is s but, you may agree. Then there is the whole thing about standardisation... some models / brands work, some other don't. But this is a completely different story.
Has anyone managed to overcome this issue when using eARC (also happens with standard ARC). I’m using a TCL tv and only had my Play for just over a week and it was working well, with no sync issues until last night when I was prompted to update the firmware to 1.5.10 and since then, I have a really noticeable lip sync issue which is so bad it’s un watchable … have tried restarting the Play … checking my TV settings, defaulting my eq to off etc. not has made much difference
With all the hype around the HDMI connection, doesn’t seem this device was made for TV audio as a priority. The optical has the issue and the RCA input that goes through a ADC prior the internal DAC, that can’t be good for lip sync either.
This is frustrating to say the least, I’m sure that I’m not unique in wanting to use the Play in my living room, playing audio from my TV 80% of the time and streaming music the other 20%. Therefore that fact that the eARC standard specifically has provision for lip sync timing information, the Play literature explicitly states it supports eARC means that most people will expect to be able to use it in this way … looks like I’ll be returning mine too then which is a real shame as I love the majority of what Eversolo have done, so it’s back to the Wiim Amp, as never had a lip sync issue with their eARC implementation, in the last year or so I’ve owned it.
