Jellyfin App by Zidoo

A second for this feature please, make watching series or picking back up half way through watching something much nicer

 

Does one have to use the google version of the firmware to have this app?

I'm running the non g latest beta firmware on the 8k box and this app is not present...

Is there a downloadable .app?

 

It's not like an app by default. It's one of the input souces. But you can create a shortcut to the home screen as well.

While I like the efforts spent by Zidoo, I use the normal android TV Client, though. But usually configured with the external Player, so it's using the native zidoo Player for playback.

I've got an odd issue with the inbuilt Jellyfin Client and using the Play All button for collections. I've local mapped all the folders for the Movies, Series & Music. These all play direct okay.

When pressing the Play All button after selecting a collection, it just bombs out and says unable to play video.

How do you guys have your Collections section locally mapped? I assume we just point it direct at the Collections data folder for Jellyfin?

There's a bug in v1.2.42 where the Jellyfin app needs all sources to be mapped in the client - this was not a requirement on previous releases and it seems this is a symptom of this bug even if collections are mapped too.

I haven't found a workaround. I have collections mapped to the AppData\Local\jellyfin\data\collections folder on the server.

 

Explains everything I had worked out already then haha! Thanks i've mapped all the folders just can't get the Play All in collections to work even with a mapped folder. Must be a bug!

 

I tried this for the first time today. I have to say, I like it more than the Plex or ZDMC option. One thing I noticed is that after I created a custom movie collection and a custom TV collection in the desktop client, only the movie collection displays the contents. The TV collection says 18 items, but it's just an empty black screen.

I have no great desire to explore these other clients other than hoping one of them may bridge some of the gaps in the HT software. I actually kind of like the HT software (and the added bonus of always being direct play, no question about it), but I really wish it would break out the recently added and continue watching into both TV and Movie. Not doing that is a huge, huge turn off for me. Also I really don't like how if a movie or tv show is in a collection, then it no longer shows up as a single item in recently added or in the respective library. That is a strange design choice. Would be great if those two things were changed. Then I would never have to explore other clients.

 

@Zidoo Support-Kim is there any chance you can add those remaining pictures as well? Would be really awesome!

 

Upgraded a Z30 pro to 1.3.05, not G. The Jellyfin app which I use quite a lot won't play FLAC files. It used to, but not with the new firmware release. Also, it would be nice to have gapless playback of music. JF app is pulling artists picture from an external source and not using embedded art or folder / cover art. Same for albums. It seems like audio is the red-headed stepchild. It would be nice if it got a little love.

What are the differences with ZidooPlexMod ?
ZidooPlexMod use the native Zidoo player to play your Plex Server media so that we can take advantage of the hardware on the Zidoo devices.

Is that the same with Jellyfin App by Zidoo ?

For a start it's Jellyfin, not Plex.

And yes it uses the Zidoo player
