In an automatic way, for instance in creating folders and giving filename matching the artist or composer's label... From my collection, some of the artists or composers are so niche that the Eversolo won't find a picture (or very low resolution) to display. So I was wondering if I could make it go browse to local files instead ! I know I have the ability to set it manually from the player's screen but it will be a painful operation to do manualy.
There is a setting to ensure local source for some library data. On the device itself, or using Screen, try Music, first page called Index, settings cog top right, there are various pages with settings not to be found anywhere else, possibly under Scan ?
Thank you for your reply. I can see the settings you are refering to, and I think the default value is to use local data and pictures. I can see this is what the Eversolo does for album images. However I see no mentions for artists and composers pictures. I suppose there could be a naming convention or folder structures to implictely use that I am not aware of ?
I use the usual Artist/Album/Tracks folder structure, but the streamer acquires artist images from online sources rather than local as far as I know. You can change the artist image on an individual basis but you are looking for something better than that. Maybe others can help.
Yes, since I know this request may be a bit niche, I should point out I'm tech savy and would not mind using a solution that would involve some scripting if it would require to use API calls or stuff like this.
The automatically supplied composer images from Eversolo are particularly bad. It's very rare that you get an actual picture of the composer. In fact it's quite comical to see the images they provide.
I am encountering the exact same problem. It even sometimes automatically retrieves a completely wrong image: I have Bach instead of Mozart, and Prokofiev instead of Chopin (and in Russian, no less!). If anybody finds a clean automated solution that Eversolo could understand, please share.. It's a pity the App and Library provide so little transparency/ user control. Particularly the App. I think this is really the point that needs Eversolo developers’ attention, because otherwise the streamer itself is excellent.
Hello, the Eversolo v1.5.30 firmware has added a feature in the Music Library to support custom artist and composer cover images. The feature can be accessed via: Music Library → Home → Settings → Display Menu. The setup steps are as follows: Click on “Artist Custom Cover Directory” and “Composer Custom Cover Directory” respectively. Click the question mark icon on the right to view the detailed cover naming rules. Create folders for artist and composer covers in the internal storage or SSD, name them according to the rules, and save the cover images inside. Return to the device interface, and use “Artist / Composer Custom Cover Path” to point to the corresponding folder path to complete the setup.
Thanks for the good news, and upfront apology for this newbie question : where or how do you access “Artist Custom Cover Directory” and “Composer Custom Cover Directory” ?.. and accordingly the detailed cover naming rules?.. I am having hard time finding this path you mention: Music Library → Home → Settings → Display Menu. PS: I’m using SMB for a shared library, based on my MacBook Pro - and I control the streamer via the Eversolo Control App on the Mac (I do not have an iPad).
It's in the Music settings menu, so on the device itself, go Home screen/Music, first page is called Index, you may have to scroll the tabs line to see it, then Settings Cog right hand side top will get you to that Music settings. Then go down to the Display page and you will find these new coverart options. None of the settings in this Music subsettings menu are visible via the control app.
