NAS, LAN, NFS protocol. I display devices as icons in HT and go into the 3D device/folder. I have tried factory reset and re-scan but it didn’t help. So now, I just kept 3D movies in my Z9X pro and moved all my 4K rips to the Z9X 8K

The IMDb and RT’s APIs breaking is really annoying, though I understand it’s out of Zidoo’s hands. Are ratings showing up completely tied to those APIs being functional or will they work if you prioritize reading an nfo that might is created by TinyMediaManager or the like? Just thinking of the next time they break and we longer get HT updates

Hi, tried to update my current HT version 4.3.52 on my Z1000 Pro but when I try to it fails and the error code is simply "App was not installed". Do I have to uninstall the old HT version first?

EDIT: Solved it, this was of course the wrong file :confused: I downloaded the correct file for the 1619DR SoC and now I could install it.

Home Theater 5.0.88 on Zidoo UHD5000 – Important Library/Database Issues with a Large Collection

I want to share my experience with Home Theater 5.0.88 on my Zidoo UHD5000, as I think there may be a serious issue with library and path management when using a large collection with multiple storage locations.

I have a very large library containing several thousand movies and TV series. My media files are stored on different devices, including a Synology NAS and external hard drives.

After installing Home Theater 5.0.88 on my UHD5000, I started experiencing issues that I had never experienced with Home Theater 4.

The main problem was duplicate entries and incorrect paths.

For example, Home Theater could display two copies of the same movie while specifying the same storage path for both inputs, even though the files were actually located on two different physical drives: one on an external hard drive and the other on the NAS.

This is particularly problematic because my library contains several thousand titles. When a database starts to disrupt storage paths, it becomes impossible to trust the information displayed by Home Theater.

    I tried several things:

    • Uninstalling and Reinstalling Home Theater 5.
    • New analysis of the library.
    • Checking storage paths.
    • Reintegration of the films concerned.
    • Reinstallation of the home cinema.
    The problem could still reappear.

Since I wanted to determine if the problem was due to my database or my existing configuration, I finally performed a factory reset of the UHD5000 and started from scratch.

I then installed Home Theater 4.

With Home Theater 4, the problem disappeared. The different storage locations are correctly identified and the duplication/path issue I was experiencing with version 5 no longer occurs.

This is important: the same UHD5000, NAS, external hard drives, and media library work fine with Home Theater 4.

Based on my own testing, I strongly suspect that there is an element of Home Theater 5.0.88's library/database/path management that needs to be examined.

I want to make it clear that I really enjoy Home Theater 5. It's significantly faster and smoother than Home Theater 4, especially when navigating a large library. The interface is excellent and the overall responsiveness is much better.

Unfortunately, with a library of several thousand titles, database reliability is much more important than speed.

If the home theater system creates duplicates or associates a movie with the wrong storage location, it can take hours or even days to manually fix the problem.

For a small library, this could be inconvenient.

For a large library, this can become a serious problem.

So I hope that other UHD5000 users with large libraries can report if they experience similar behavior with version 5.0.88, especially when using multiple storage locations such as NAS and USB drives.

I also hope that Zidoo will investigate this issue and release a fixed V5 version soon.

For now, I've come back to Home Theater 4. It's slower, but at least I can trust the database and storage paths.

The V5 version has great potential. It just needs to become as reliable as the V4 version with the big libraries on the UHD5000 before I can use it again with confidence.
