I have a Z30 Pro 8K, Z20 Pro 4K, and Z9X Pro 4K. I've been working on my Z30 Matching, Category's, Posters and Cover art for a few days. So, I thought since both my Z30 and Z20 are both using HT 5.0, I would Backup the folder in the Library in the Z30, and Restore in the Z20, so they are both the same. Now mind you, I've done a Backup / Restore the other way from the Z20 to Z30, when I first got my Z30, and all went well. I also have "Use Local Images First" always selected on both boxes. I also have Exported NFO files. To my point, on the Z30, I Exported NFO files, Backed up Poster Wall data and User Settings. On my Z20, making sure "Use Local Images First" is selected, I did a "Restore" I then rebooted the Z20, clicked on HT5.0, the screen momentarily went black, then back to the GUI menu. So I'm in a loop, no HT5.0 anymore! Under "Recovery and Reset" I tried doing a "Clear System Application Data", but then HT5.0 wasn't even in the GUI menu. Next I did a "Restore Factory Settings". I was then able to get to the HT5.0 GUI. Luckily, I also have a Z9X Pro 4K that I backed up and restored to my Z20 Pro 4K. So, can I assume the 8K HT 5.0 Backups are not compatible with 4K models?
I see no one has replied yet. I have the same basic question. I' m getting a new Z3000 Pro to add to my Z2000. What is the best way to simply transfer the HT from the 2000 to the 3000 or is it best to just let it do it's thing and start from scratch? All my collection is stored on external NAS on a network.
You can go from Z2000 to Z3000, making sure both have HT5. I wouldn’t try the other way, Z3000 to Z2000. Also, Make sure “Use Local Images First” is always selected.
