Hi, Im new to the Zidoo. Recently bought a Zidoo Z9X 8K. Does the Z9X 8K have the option to turn off power/disconnect the external hard drive? For example, Im using 1 hard drive connected to the Zidoo (by USB), then I want to disconnect that hard drive, and connect to another HDD. Is there an option to turn off the HDD before I disconnect? As right now, I have to turn the Zidoo player"s power off, replace the hard drive, then turn the power back on... very inconvenient
With my Z1000 Pro and UHD8000, I just leave them in "standby" and remove/re-insert - I hardly ever power them down and never had an issue.
In File Manager there is an option to unmount. But, like rozel said, you can just "hot swap" (unplug). I do recommend waiting a few seconds before moving the drive, however, to give the platters a moment to spin down.
Thank you for the information. For the newer storage like SSD, maybe it is ok to hot swap. But for older HDD optical drive, hot swap will premature kill the drive (ask how I know )
I lost 2 usb ssd drives on my z3000. Assuming standby is enough. A costly mistake. The usb sata adapters are still ok. The ssds are bricked.
