Just to give the confirmation: When you do it right - it works like a charm. The installation of the correct apk was quick and easy!

Reading skills clearly make the difference

 

I mean browsing the source devices within HT - the HDD icon at the top-right beside the settings icon, then select the particular device and then navigate through folders to scanned media.

Incidentally, if you have two folders at the same level, eg. "I" and "ISO" (as I do), both with media in them, then there are "I" and "ISO" folders to navigate into as you'd expect, but within the "I" folder there's also a "SO" folder that shouldn't be there.

I don't let it do automatic scans. I trigger a manual update from the devices view, and that's back to taking over 30 minutes, but was around 5 minutes in v4.3.40 with the MEDIA_JSON-less and missing mediainfo database.

 

None of that is normal .. I have updated 2 Z9x devices and the automatic scanning was fast... you have something else going on...

 

Several days ago I installed v40, today i downloaded v52. Unfortunately the apk willnot install. I tried all 3 methods described. After Method 1 a message appears saying "not installed", method 2 & 3 give no feedback.
After mothing happend I downladed the APK file both from McBuna as well as this Forum, in both cases no update or anything else is installed. My Zidoo is a z9X, so 1619DR is the right file
What other options are there?

 

Same here, 3-5 minutes manually rematching a movie, very slow TMDB.
TVDB and TVMAZE are fast and ok.

 

Instead of a HT 5 updates, is it not time for a proper firmware update for our machines, I have to do a reboot every hour or so while using Roon as it looses connection!,,

Quick question, just out of curiousity, if I install this one, can I still go back to v4.3.40 afterwards, in case I don`t like it?

I do have some crashes from time to time, when browsing the poster wall and I wonder if I should give it a try because this one fixes crashes.
Not sure, hence the question if I can go back to the previous fix if I feel like it?

Not tried, but I think so - but this isn't like firmware - it's just an app installer and .52 just fixes bugs in .40 - doesn't add any new ones.

It`s so tempting because of the occasional crash, on the other hand .40 is working fine and dandy.
So I`ll guess I`ll have to sleep on it to see what I will do

Those darn decicions, life could be so easy without them.

 

The latest .52 is better than .40 I recommend installing...

After installing 4.3.40 ( I believe the orig fix for TMDB scraping issue), Home Theater 5.0 wouldn't launch for me (Z9X), it would repeatedly crash back to the Zidoo GUI, even after clearing cache, rebooting, etc. So after digging further in the forum thread I found this thread and installed 4.3.52 and Home Theater 5.0 launched.. but I had no sources and no wall.. I then did a restore from my last backup and it claimed to have worked.. but I still have no sources and no thumbnails.. Could it be this (4.3.52) is incompatible with the database format of the backups from prior versions?
I'm in the process of adding back all my SMB sources and scraping from scratch, but I would much much MUCH rather be able to restore my last backup and work forward from there.

 

I have the Z9x and updated each HT5 TMDB fix in succession (starting with .37. to .40 and now .52) and had no problems with HT5 loading or with it missing any files from my posterwall..... The only reason I can think of as to why HT5 wouldn't load properly for you is if you downloaded and installed the updated apk for another Zidoo series... and not for you 1619DR...

 

Can I install this HT version in my Z9X that has older firmware version? I have v6.3.75 with no G-apps

 

Good thought, but no.. both APKs were the links for Z9X... "zidoo_poster_RTD1619_v4.3.40.apk" and "zidoo_poster_RTD1619_v4.3.52.apk" in succession.
Has anyone attempted to do a DB restore to 4.3.52 from a backup made by something older? (I don't know the version that was released with the OG Home Theater 5.0)

 

I did a backup restore on my UHD3000 and lost everything like you. Nothing on the poster wall and no device scanning i had previously setup.
I have restored a back up previously which worked so i can only assume that older backups are not compatible.
I just set everything up again and left it to pull the items in again.

 

Can anyone know where the HT stores the metadata of movies after scraping?I only find the folders for thumbnails background images and posters.
I have selected prefered language the Greek but I want the titles of the movies to be in English.Only movie plot want to be in Greek.
Also , a Ruusian movie title is in Russian language even though the poster has the english title and I want to change it.
And a few movies have no plot at all after scraping.
It will be nice if we could edit poster title and plot lines.

 

It's contained in a SQLite database which you can play with if you do a backup and unzip it.

However, if you want to edit movie details, just use the web UI.

If you go to the detailed view and display the movie information, the source of this data is displayed under the cover. Online from TMDB, from the NFO file...
I have created an NFO file for each of my movies and set it up so that the information is taken from the NFO file. After importing a source, some movies show that the info comes from TMDB. The data definitely comes from the file, as some fields contain information that does not exist in this form on TMDB. For some movies, the correct information is displayed under the cover, i.e. from the NFO.

I have not yet been able to find out why the wrong information is displayed under the cover in some cases.

Can anyone confirm this behaviour?
