Hi guys, My Z1000 Pro froze after I pulled out the internal HDD while it was running. Now it won't boot. I tried the emergency flash with a USB drive and install.img. When I hold the Reset button, the screen shows "Up" for a second, but then everything goes black (both the TV and the device display). I waited 20 minutes and nothing happened. No "Hello" message. I have attached a photo of the device's current state (Power LED is blue, but VFD is blank). What should I do? Is my device bricked? Thanks for any help!
Just to check - you followed these instructions to the letter right? Emergency Flash Procedure ========================= 1. Copy file to empty FAT32 USB stick 2. Rename file to "install.img" 3. Turn off player using switch on back 4. Plug USB stick into USB 3.0 Port (a blue one) 5. Press and hold reset button with something pointy then apply power 6. Wait for on screen confirmation then release reset button. **Do not turn off during this procedure** USB stick must be formatted to FAT32? install.img is in the root and is the only file? Push & hold the reset button before applying power? Keep the reset button held until you see the onscreen confirmation?

I don't recall ever seeing a log file on a USB stick used for the emergency flash procedure, but it's possible it's a compatibility error - I'd try a different stick and even different USB slot on the 1000. If possible, as small a stick as possible. The current instruction is to use a USB 3.0 slot but previously the recommendation was to use a USB 2.0 slot so that's worth a try too.
"Update: I have tried 3 different types of USB sticks in all available ports (both USB 2.0 Black and USB 3.0 Blue), but the 'Up' message still does not appear at all. The device seems completely unresponsive to the Reset button method. I need to recover it via PC. Could you please share the link for the RTD1619DR Transplant/Flash Tool and the necessary drivers? I have a USB Male-to-Male cable ready to start the process. Thanks for your help."
Sorry, there is no "Transplant/Flash Tool" available. The only way into the eeprom is using a UART and using a terminal emulator to access U-Boot. The attached pdf might help you.
