HDD from a Z10 can't be read in W7 & unit keeps powering back up by itself

    Two issues;

A spare smaller HDD I had in my X10 originally (now a spare) I placed in the Z10 Pro for initial setup. I took that drive and placed in a slide in tray in my W7 Desktop PC, but Windows doesn't see the drive. But, a couple of 3rd party Disc utilities do see the drive and it shows it's GPT formatted in NTFS drive.

I don't recall having this situation before with the X10, thou I usually just xfer files thru a Network connection. I wanted to update many of the videos and wanted a direct connection to speed things up.
Has something changed with these 1619 chipsets blocking access to recordings?? Do these add some security setting a Windows PC won't/can't read the drive?

To add to the above, when I powered down, within 10 seconds it powered back up w/o any input from me. I've tried it 2 more time and the same thing.
I did a full reset and when thru the basic setup settings, but the same thing. The F/W is the latest version from last year. I believe it was v....42 that was in the unit before the upgrade to v....68

    This must be jinked.

The power up thing may be CEC - turn it off, it's the work of the devil.

I don't remember seeing that, but it would be something I wouldn't be looking for.
How about a WOL setting, is there one?

It powers back up seconds after it powers down almost as if it is doing a forced "reboot".

How about this not being to be read in Windows. I don't recall that happening before as I thought I have had it in my Desktop updating the media before?

It's in settings and probably on by default.

Yes, it can be woken using WOL.

About the hard disc - no idea - I use network storage.

It's only gotten worse, the only way I can turn this thing off is to use the rear power switch. No matter what I do all it does is reboots.
And this is on the current F/W from last year.
Can I flash the O/S with a fresh image?

Yes you can either overwrite the existing firmware or install a full image using the emergency flash method.

I'd try a factory reset before flashing though.

When it reboots does it say "restarting" on the TV?

If so then it's an internally generated reboot and if not I'd assume it's an externally generated one - sticky remote button?

I did a full reset, but no change. (FWIW, I notices a few 'settings' that I changed the remained 'changed.
No on the re-starting message. There is a 3-7 second pause between the screen going black and when hear the fan start.
When I try to shut it down with the "Power" button on screen, I get a pop-up asking what type of shutdown I wanted. The 1st choice is checked (I forgot the wording), but I get no response from the system when I press 'Select'. When I press "Power" on the remote that pop-up clears.

No sticky buttons, this is using 1 programed URC remote (which I checked the programming) and 2 stock remotes.

The popup only shows if you long press the power button this allowing you to choose between the two options for power button operation. Once the choice is made, you only do a short press to apply that option.

You have to be careful with programming URCs because of the number of repeats that can get accidentally programmed. If you're getting the Power Button selection dialogue when pressing the power button the programming on the URC is incorrect and you're sending a long press.

There are only two ways I know to get the box to reboot immediately after powering down:

    1. With the Power app and select "Reboot"
    2. By sending another power on signal (whether that's IR, WOL, RS232, CEC) once power off is complete

I re-did the commands for power, but it didn't change anything. (yes, I'm familiar with a 'long press' and press and hold. I made sure it was a short press as I do with any other function in the Learning mode. (BTW, it's a MX900 with it's own dedicated S/W, not that overly bloated CCP bloated nightmare that gets disabled if you try to run it w/o being registered.

To be clear, all of this happens with the Zidoo remote also! It was shutting down with no issue, no pop-up before, but I don't know what/when things changed with the original HDMI issues.

How about the internal HDD not being about to be read in Windows when inserted in your desktop PC SATA tray?
