If the screen is off and you press the mute button, the screen turns back on. I find it a bit confusing, but is it as designed? Normally I probably just want to power it off and am not accustomed to holding the button for 2 seconds.
It seems very logical to me — a short press mutes the sound, a long press turns the power off completely. But my screen stays on all the time. Maybe the behavior is incorrect when the screen is off?
It doesn’t seem hard to implement at the developer level—if the screen is off, pressing the power button to adjust volume shouldn’t turn it on. I hope they consider this suggestion; it seems logical, even though I don’t use this feature myself.
There is a second confusing point. If the screen is off and you press and hold the button the screen comes on, but the unit does not shut down. You have to release the button and then press and hold it for a second time. There is a similar issue on the remote when the screen is off. The first button (could be any) will turn the screen on, but will not process the button press. So for example, if the screen is off and you press mute (on the remote) it won't work until you press it a second time. It appears the screen needs to be on all the time for proper behaviour.
