Feature Request: Smart Volume Leveling for Streaming Services

You point to a very big issue with atmos.
I hope in ten years we have forgotten dd+ atmos.
It would be nice if music industry stayed away from the DD+ for music.
focus on quality 5.1 or go full uncompressed atmos.
if you compare any streaming atmos track to a disk 5.1 version . the 5.1 wins anytime!
DD+ at 750kbps is crap!

The concept is rotten anyways. Object audio is a fun idea but if it is allowed over 2 speakers it's doomed to fail. Why bother mixing to atmos if it is played over stereo devices.

Yes, it makes no sense to play Atmos to two speakers. I have a 7.1.4 setup and like Atmos music very much, if it comes from BluRay. But, of course, I also listen to it from Amazon Music, although the quality is worse. But if I like it, I can also buy the BluRay afterwards.

 

On blu-ray it can be fantastic.

But i stil prefer the hires surround over atmos.
The use of the top layer is hardly relevant.

I listen to tidal atmos mixes. Jean michel jarre - oxymore is not released on bluray. So i must use the crappy stream

That bad. It's like the reinvention of 128kps mp3, if you compare it to the sacd 5.1 mix

How in hell would an album consist of some tracks in atmos and some others in stereo?!? If there are ALL the tracks offered in the two variations it's OK, but I would never accept to have, say, tracks 1,2,3,7,9 in atmos only, and 4,5,6,8 in stereo only.

Just asking, because if this is the case, IMHO it's unacceptable that a paid service offers only this mediocrity...

And you pay for that, right? Then streamed Atmos for me is a no-go.

 

Since most of Amazon Music is stereo, you mainly pay for that. But, of course, a small amount is for the Atmos tracks.
Anyway, I want to be able to listen to all content of Amazon Music or Tidal, including the Atmos tracks. That´s why I am waiting for an Eversolo device to support it.
