The T8 and other Eversolo streamers do not in fact output data packets. They output digital audio streams such as SPDIF, I2S etc. These are the product of particular audio circuits which can use different power supplies, general components, clocks in their implementation. Thus the streamer digital outputs from one streamer can sound different to another streamer being fed the same input data packets. Different circuit implementations also may differ in their handling of noise and its transmission to external DACs and other digital equipment. All adds up to the possibility of hearing differences between streamers. I hear the T8 as a different beast entirely to my earlier A6 used only as a streamer. All the downstream DACs now sound different, more dynamic and robust. This is just my subjective opinion of course but is my considered opinion after many months of listening to the T8.

Ghislain, I would absolutely certainly agree with you, not to be condescending I own Eversolo equipment myself
But it’s somewhat comical at least to me how mediocre products of excellent value get introduced onto the
The AUDIO market add an acceptable cost, then before you know it you’re getting into thousands of dollars again
It’s basically the same game that’s been going on since I’ve gotten into it in the early 70s the only thing that’s changed
is everything you look at today? Has quadruple in cost, perhaps go with the A 26, everyone evaluates and
Takes everything in every situation may be interpreted naturally in different ways, however in your particular
Case or situation. I doubt very much if you’re going to hear 1000 Dollars worth of difference, seriously
From what I can interpret with yourself and your current AUDIO system I believe you’re making a good move
Naturally this is just my personal opinion.

again best of luck to you enjoy the music you’ll get there believe me :)

Thanks for the recommendation, I now have my eye on the Halo Cyan 2 DAC as I've been looking for a no frills device.

Keith, in the meanwhile i know where you're coming from. You always forget to add, "for me". For other folks different things matter, the looks, the price, the desire to possess something, which has been made appealing by presentation or marketing and so forth. All these different views what matters are legitimate. In our market economy demand is created and then it's accommodated for. There are hundreds of different detergents, some of them are advertised with false promises, probably we need only five for different purposes, but nobody cares and purchases whatever he wants or what has been put in his head, by marketing. Telling people what they are supposed to want is planned economy, which in the end leads to everybody driving a "Trabant" like in the "GDR". Nobody is harmed when somebody, who has the money, aquires equipment which might measures poor, but it makes the dude happy.
Aren't you ever getting tired and bored by this useless discussion? You will never change the industry and you will not go down in history as a saint, but probably totally exhausted from a livelong fight against windmills.

Hi you may be in luck, there is one currently listed for sale now on US AUDIO MART I believe the gentleman is asking 1495 .00 just seen it listed five minutes ago
if I were looking at the moment, I might give this some serious consideration, however, my AUDIO priorities at this present time or point it in a different direction at least for the time being, R to R yes I believe to a certain degree. Everything is hand selected and hand built
Like I stated for lack of better terminology, you’re in somewhat in the same area, but in an entirely different neighborhood, I think you could take it from there

Please have a nice day. Enjoy the music :)

This piece of equipment is what i've been looking for. It sounds fantastic, the most "analog" sounding dac i ever experienced. It also excels in measurements, not that i care, and it is reasonably priced. If you like a warm, silky and laid back sound, this is the device for you.

My only concern is that I use my current DAC with multiple inputs and from what I read this doesn't have a way to switch inputs other than turn off other devices. That might not be a show stopper for me, but one of concern for me. And its not wining any awards for best looking device but at least has nice connectors in the back. Bugs me when a device that is targeted for higher end market uses cheaper RCA connections for single ended outputs.

I had that concern as well, but it doesn't bother me at all in everday use. I either use my streamer or my cd-transport, without switching back and forth in a listening session. Over the years i learned to concentrate on a complete album, out of respect towards the artist. The negative side of streaming is, that it has led to, our attention span being very short, like zapping on tv or clip hopping on youtube/tiktok.

Yes hello , I can certainly appreciate what you are saying if this is indeed somewhat of a priority or a great concern to yourself in which it certainly sounds so or appears to be, there are a few high-end companies that do make some wonderful selector or switching devices. For instance, I use a gold point ABC selector, SIMPLY due to the fact I do use and run sometimes multiple turntables one is set up moving coil. The other is set up moving magnet, but unfortunately, my Manley phono section will only allow, or simply put as one input & one output
the little device is a lifesaver SIMPLY going from
Turning the input knob , We have evaluated it for several hours on end over a year ago and can find no degrading alteration or sonic change of any kind detected or being present however, not everyone is a fan of such devices. Totally understandable. I was very skeptical myself but performs flawlessly just an idea

have a good day enjoy the music :)

Can't you buy from Kitsune Audio in the US? Maybe at Magna-Hifi, Denmark or Netherlands, i can't remember.

So what is the behavior of the unit when two devices are powered on? Does one input take precedence? Or the last activated device automatically get selected? Just trying to reduce the amount of remotes I have that I only use for one button (like Power).

Hello Richard, there are quite a number of AUDIO hobbies here in the United States that have been using the DAC in question for quite some time however, I have absolutely noknowledge As to where they’re being ordered from or shipped from, if you wish, I am a certain I could find out sometime throughout the day and let you know in order to answer your question. No problems

I rarely buy anything new these days, typically I purchase form the used market. The Eversolo T8 was an exception...

I use a Holo Audio Cyan2 purchased from Magna HiFi as one of my DACs being fed from the T8 streamer. A very nice sound but it is quite lively in general character not really laid back or "warm". It is NOS only and as the T8 does not do any upsampling, this could give some issues for low sampling rate files. I move between this and a Laiv Audio uDAC, which I use in OS mode, so I get two distinct flavours. You can have multiple inputs connected on the Cyan2 but only one of them should be active at any time, the USB input seems to take priority if there are multiple live inputs. Both DACs sound great when fed from any of the T8 digital outputs.

Hi yes extremely smart move, regardless of your income level nothing to do with it, why in the world would you want to pay 50 or 60% more for something
That with a little time and patience. I have always found on one of the AUDIO MARTS, that always had came with the returnable refund option
if you use PayPal or some credit cards, you also have a guarantee through those carriers if the unit or device and question may have been faulty
or misrepresent it, oh yes, it certainly happens although I would say quite rare today, but not impossible, I believe I only had one minor incident
Where the top of a very expensive remote control had been damaged on one of the selector buttons on the remote, I basically straightened it out
on my own to some degree you can still observe where the top of the remote has been damaged, but other than that, it works flawlessly
But I do believe this was the fault of the shipper, as the container or box that it was shipped in, had looked like it had been through actual war
But most guys that use her own equipment like that usually take care of it like a baby as far as it’s overall use condition, there is absolutely nothing wrong
With preowned High End Audio equipment it all depends on who had it and how they took care of it, yes you do have a lot of folks out there with more money than common sense. It happens, but it is somewhat rare occasion , being very cautious and the way that you’re purchase and like I said you were also protected in other ways
I really don’t know what’s on some folks minds, a friend of mine just purchased a $3000 MSRP cost preamp four 1450, the unit works and operates
Flawlessly. this had happened to be a particular UNIT he had been searching for for quite some time, I would say the weight was somewhat worth it
he saved over 50% and if the unit does not live up to his expectations, eventually he did not get hurt at all. He can always just turn around and resell it
Smart move, but exercise, extreme caution. There are literally tons of excellent used High End Audio equipment out there at a fraction of a price

best of luck to you enjoy your week. Enjoy the music :)

Actually i have never tried that being aware of the behaviour. My guess is, it keeps the actual connection. My second guess is, USB is prioritized.

To choose between components on the basis of features, aesthetics, price is perfectly valid.
But manufacturers never say ‘our box is super smart and it sounds just like everything else’ do they?
