Eversolo OTA v1.5.90: More Refined, More Responsive

I have set previous version back 1.5.75 where i have no issues with my library. In the screenshot this is how the genre is in version 1.5.75 but in 1.5.9 after i did a rescan of my library there are only 5 genre only pop, rock, classic, taiko and jazz no subgenres. Also there are some artist in version 1.5.9 that are gone and would not appear under artist or albumartist.

 

I have a DMP-A6 Master that was updated to 1.5.90 this morning and after that the Control application from the Android mobile phone is unable to establish a connection via the Wi-Fi network. I have tried everything, reset the device, mobile, router, reinstalled the application and nothing has changed significantly. Sometimes it establishes a connection with the device, opens the home menu, but nothing else from the Control application works, it cannot even open the settings. It throws Error Code 6.

 

Is the issue with the cracking sound when skipping being addressed?

I am confused why the library was redesigned since I haven’t had any library problems with the last firmware. Now I am afraid to update because there seem to be new problems (mentioned above by other users).

I had high hopes for this new update but when I read the release notes I should better wait for more reports. And I definitely don’t need more VU meter themes…

 

Yes, I agree. I'll be sticking with 1.5.75 for now I suspect there will be another release along soon to fix all these new problems.

But I want to have much more of them!
You haven`t had any library problems...
But others had...

So, what I will say - those updates and changes are not made for you only.

I have something similar with genres. Examples: What in the tag I called “classic pop” appears now as “traditional pop”, all the albums with the “electro India” genre are now under “electronic” with other albums labelled “electronic” only. I had some mixed genres like funk/rock, pop/funk, etc that are not appearing anymore. “Latino” has been renamed as “music of Latin America”. “Classic Rock & Blues” is now “Rock”. “Rock & Pop Latino” is “Rock”. Some other genres disappeared and I cannot find to which genre the albums has been assigned. In the previous version all genres appeared as I created them. I spent a whole week -last week- checking all my files to be sure all the tags including genres were correct. I haven’t changed my library since then.

 

After installing yesterday, I had a lot of problems to get the app (on iOS, iPadOS en MacOS) connect to the Eversolo DMP A6. After multiple reboots of the A6 and my router (who got some firmware updates too, and yes, I did a firmware downgrade to make sure it wasn't my router who was causing the problems), I managed to connect the app to the A6. Since this morning no connection possible, the app doesn't find the A6. Really weird is that Qobuz Connect does find and connects to the A6 and I can stream music from the A6 to my (active) speakers (only via Qobuz, not via Eversolo app).

 

What brand router do you have?

I don’t know it. I only ask because in the past I’ve had streaming media issues that came down to the router. When I used sonos a lot, netgear was problematic, but ASUS was fine. I never figured out why, I just gave up when a different router worked.

 

Thanks for your reaction @bradbort. I have never had any problems with the Eversolo/Unifi combo, until now.

 

Understood. Minor changes on either platform can lead to clashes. Unfortunately, it’s often really hard to sort out. Good idea to let eversolo know your router specifics so they can test against it.

 

There are a few other posts with similar issues to yours. It would be good if folks could mention their router specifics if they are having problems to see if there is a pattern. I’m not having hte problem, but I understand how aggregating it would be to have it.

 

A new version (1.2.85) of the EverSolo app is available for download. Perhaps this will fix the connection issue!?

 

Yet to receive the update online...

 

After clearing the cache and reinstalling the Control app on my Android phone, I managed to somehow connect to the device, but everything is so slow and takes a minute or two to execute any command. It's a disaster, and before this update everything worked in seconds.

Last night I tried to go back to the previous version 1.5.75 via update from a USB flash drive, but it wouldn't let me and stopped the process as soon as it started. It seems that going back to the previous version is not possible.

 

With the updated eversolo control app the evotune pro works now
