On such a large collection, IMHO, searching by folder is utterly silly.
Search for artist / album - it's far more effective.
Otherwise just open a file browser over SMB, use a LMS-compatible browser, and play that way...

Thanks, but, I don't know which Eversolo product you are using, but on my A10, far from being 'utterly silly', there is no way to do what you suggest! If I use the search function which I believe you're referring to, located at the bottom of the home page, then all that does is search within Qobuz, not any attached storage device, either on board, attached USB device or internal M.2. So, it's not only not effective at all, but does not do what I want to do, or what I'm asking for.
Try it yourself - go to the home page, choose 'Files' (to see all/any attached device), then try and search for anything in there. You can't, as once you choose 'Files', the search function is no longer is there - hence my repeated request to Kim to provide one.
Even removing the Qobuz filter from the search function, and just use 'Music Library' doesn't give a result.

Any comments on this...? I am pretty sure I have "seen" it working; but apparently it is not, can you elaborate?

Sorry but it works fine for me on my A8. I have my library on external server but the software works the same for local storage or network storage. Search works fine it shows both local music and from any service I have below. You sure you have local library turned on in the filter ?

Just reread your post, misunderstood but I have to ask as to why are you searching in files ? Is this for maintenance of content? As for playing music use the spyglass at bottom right or in the library section this will find anything much quicker.

the search works for me on folders though using files it’s more of a filter. As this area covers local storage, network not all that are added to a library it can’t fully index all of it. If you go into the location of music and use search it works for me. It doesn’t recursively search as its folders at that level it’s looking at.

When you go into library and choose albums or artist do you see your albums and artists listed?

I'm very satisfied with the latest Eversolo firmware update. I'd like to share some of the features I'd like to see added.

    1. I'd like lyrics to be displayed in Eversolo's in-app services (Apple Music, Qobuz, Tidal, etc.).

    2. Lyrics are only displayed if the stock music player contains an LRC file. The initial firmware included a lyrics search function, but it's no longer available. I'd like to see the lyrics search function restored.

    3. I installed the newly released Eversolo TV app and it's very good. However, when playing third-party streaming apps like the native Apple Music app, only the sampling rate is displayed. I hope the TV app will include the Screen feature from the Eversolo Control app.

    4. When I enable the library auto-scan option in the original music player, it scans several times a minute. I have an SSD installed, so I only register the library on that SSD, but it's extremely inconvenient to have to scan the SSD so frequently. I hope you can allow me to set the auto-scan cycle, or improve it so that it only auto-scans when music is added.

This may not be possible, as it requires refactoring / recoding of such applications, which do not belong to Eversolo, but to the respective companies.

It is better to have such feature disabled; and perform a LIBRARY RESCAN / LIBRARY UPODATE only when you know you have added some new content. It takes a couple of clicks, but doesn't annoy / take up resources / slow down the system while you are listening (which is the most important thing)

Thanks, but what I would need to see is where that page came from - the route you got to it, please. I am NOT wanting to search through FILES, but Folders. Go to your Homepage, and choose 'Files' then choose your M.2 or the internal memory, or an attached USB device - NOT SMB. Not Library. Touch the M.2 to see the folders within. Now, where is the search function? There Isn't one.

When I go into the Library, I see the root of each storage device, either the M.2, my attached USB storage, or the onboard storage, but there is no way to search within those root folders. If I open the root of eg M.2, then it's the same problem, no search function.

Even though the recent update said on the intro/info that a search function was included in the update, there is still no search function! So, to be clear; If you launch/open the M.2 storage eg, you then see all the folders within/on the M.2 drive. There is no search function to allieviate the necessity to scroll, scroll and keep on scrolling down and down to get to a folder named, eg Otis Redding. All we would need is a search box at the top of the page where we could enter eg 'O', rather than the continual and very annoying continued scrolling. Why is this so hard for people to understand?? Please, do not mention SMB and searching on a PC/Laptop etc, this is NOT what I'm referring to. It's JUST an onboard or attached storage function I'm talking about.

If someone thinks it's there, and I'm missing it, please post a pic of your root of your M.2 and show me the search place. I would be VERY grateful.

    Kim - over to you.

Why are you looking via files for folders in the first place this is what I don’t understand. The idea of using the internal library system on the device is to use search in the Eversolo library app by artist, tracks or albums not via the files section. The files section isn’t your library it’s just looking at the local file system or network storage it has no database of its content at all.

The view I showed is using the files app and navigating into the folder where my album music folders reside. As I explained you can’t search just at the root level of the drive as there is no database it’s a file system view and you can only filter at the level of directory you are at. So you have to drill down to the folder where your albums are. Again I ask why are looking for music this way? I think what your after doesn’t exist as you want a flat folder view of your music library to navigate. This would be needed in the library app not files. This type of navigation isn’t what modern apps tend to use as they rely on metadata to show and navigate your library.

To make it easy to navigate you can use the screen share or setup on the device favourite folders via files to save you navigating the whole file structure each time. Then you just hop into one folder and use search. In my example I have made two folders favourite one called flac which has all my Flac albums in sorted in artist folders, and lossy sorted the same. So when I goto that folder via favourite sat top of files app I can search by artist folder. You can’t search for albums as they are another directory down in each artist folder.

But finding music is so much easier using library app.

My last two streamers could do this. My previous Cambridge Azure 851N could easily do what I want. You ask why do I want to do this - because it's the easiest way, or it would be if Eversolo featured it. If I do as you suggest - go to the Library, where I can see the storage places, then if I use the search at the top, it doesn't show my folders, or my music. It seem to search within Qobuz, but maybe not, as it's not intuitive. If I search for a folder called Fink, with several albums within it, then it finds ONE file, which I don't even have, as it finds it on Qobuz! It does not look within my 3 storage locations.

You asked - "When you go into library and choose albums or artist do you see your albums and artists listed?" I see lots of my albums, yes, 669 of them, but I aslo see albums I don't have, or want, so where do they come from? Qobuz? But the same problem exists there - no search function, so I still have to go scrolling down and down through hundreds of album views to get to one I want; If I go back to the top and use the search box, the same happens, it dosn't search through MY drives at all. If I try and sort via 'Artist Name', it doesn't, it still searches with album title - another bug?!

Thanks for your help and suggestions on this topic, but what I want is the simple way, and that is to give us a search box at the top of the page where it shows the root ie all my folders on my eg M.2. Surely that can't be too difficult to implement, can it, KIM??? Cambridge Audio can do it, why can't Eversolo?

you know why $$$$, sorry just passing
Through, no reason to make it technical or lengthy no matter how much conversation you spend on it going back-and-forth with this that why they can or why they can’t, absolutely not everyone’s opinion totally understandable but no matter what way you slice it or dice it 99% of the time that’s what it always comes down to
$$$$, Quite normal just the way things are
Yes absolutely there’s other reasons also
But the main standing factor always comes down to $$$$ or in some association of it :)

Then something isn’t right with how you set it up. I can search for any artist it shows them correctly. Show a screen grab of what you see Library wise in the app.

As I said the function your after is folder navigation from the library, which UPnP servers have but modern music management has moved on from folders for navigation.

Have you actually had the Eversolo scan your music folder to add music to its library? Have you checked to see if you have the music library enabled in search. I struggle to see how folder browsing can be quicker than using search in Library. I type it in it finds what I want whether using search in the library section or the search from the bottom right of the app.

The iOS update to version 1.2.47 arrived today.

    There's an option there:
    Added music service app functionality

Where can I see this? I didn't see any changes in Eversolo Control.

    Thanks!

Incidentally, I was just about to write about the request for a dark icon for iOS/MacOS, but today I saw that it's already been done.

Great stuff! The Eversolo team is reading people's thoughts on the fly.

Please allow direct access to the CD player and CD-ripper apps from the Eversolo Control app. Currently, I can only access the CD app by controlling it from the Eversolo console or using the screen function. Accessing it by pressing the CD-ROM button in the File tab is not very aesthetically pleasing.

On the DMP A6 1st generation:

Is there a method to enter the VU meters screen automatically right after power up? or, right after music starts playing?

Is there a screen saver displaying active VU meters when music is playing?

    Thanks

Hello Zolom, typically after using an operating, my
Unit DMP A8, for approximately at least a year and a half I believe they’re operating systems are very quite similar, For example, in what you are describing towards the end of the evening almost every day, I always transfer over to Internet radio classic, I am really not into VU meters but I do like the big square white ones
When I shut the unit down, whatever screen was displaying upon shut down, the following morning when I turn my unit back on or power up, whatever screen was displaying at the time, I had turned the unit off that identical screen that was on will come back on at the time of power up always, other than the information supplied, it always seems to work out well not to be repetitious, but whatever screen was on during shut down that screen will appear back on power up
Again, I believe this is what you are referring to please correct me if I am incorrect,

Please have an enjoyable week and enjoy your music and you’re Eversolo. Hope this helps some IDK :)
