DAC-Z8 Is it possible to place active volume controls in the DAC-Z8 app? This way, I don't have to access the DAC itself. See attached image.
The Z8 app does have volume control, but if you stream to the A6 via BT you cannot access the Z8 simultaneously, as the BT is already bound to the A6...
Please explain. I know that if I go to the DAC-Z8 tab in VERSOLO CONTROL, I can adjust the volume. But I'd like to be able to adjust it directly from this tab, like in the first photo. Unless I'm misunderstanding something.
I don't control it from the A6 tab. I only occasionally change the EQ settings. However, the A6 tab has a visible volume control option (currently set to passthrough mode on). I'd like this control to also be visible in the DAC tab and become active when I click the tab—without accessing the DAC card.
Oh, understood. TBH I fail to understand how they do it for the A6, as it needs to be connected over BT to be controlled. Hence, once you connect the A (for whatever reason) the Z8 won't be available until it gets connected (which in therm of time is equivalent to opening the app itself). Hopefully @Zidoo Support-Kim can forward this to the devs, as I would benefit too, as I mainly use the Z8 app to adjust the volume.
I think the A6 is added and controlled via IP address. The DAC, however, is added via Bluetooth. I have another question: What setting is this? I don't see any difference when I change it. USB DAC output / volume control: - fallow system setting - Audio device.
on what device, the A6? I do not own an A6, but to my understanding it should be: Follow System Settings: you adjust the volume on the A6 Audio device: A6 will output at 0dB, and you control the volume on the cascaded device, that is, the Z8 in this case.
This setting is in the A6. But what does it mean? It doesn't do anything for me. I have it set to 0 dB in the A6. I control the sound in the DAC.
Could it be that it controls the volume downstream on the Z8? You could do this: 1. disable the volume passthrough on the A6 2. select "Audio device" start with lower volumes on both devices,,, see what happens (and where...) when you adjust the volume on the A6 app.
It doesn't change anything. If I disable passthrough in the A6 and lower the volume to halfway, I can't hear anything. And when I turn up the volume in the A6, the DAC stays at the set volume, for example, -41 dB, and nothing changes. I've tried various combinations, and they don't seem to help. So I don't know what these settings are for.
