Didn't see a thread for this so figured I'd start one that maybe we all could use to add and reference. In any case here are my first two. 1. Ability to have Play shutdown or go into Standby after xxx amount of idle time on. 2. Shorten WOL message or option to eliminate "not show again" after initial read. Someone decided to write a book with the current message. Should be short and sweet or even just a button and that's it. Put all that verbiage in help
I'd love to see the ability to set an alarm, based on a channel(radio station, music library etc.), with a volume setting and customisable based on room/day/time etc.
-The ability to set a screen UI default for different inputs. For instance I obviously want album art when streaming directly but when listening to other sources via optical, HDMI, etc., I'd prefer to have the spectrum analyzer. Currently you have to switch the screen manually every time. -Wider range on the spectrum analyzer (20hz-20khz) -Color choices of the spectrum analyzer (to match volume knob led) -Auto sensing of other inputs besides HDMI -Screen saver 'OFF' setting -Standby on idle -Alexa support/skill -Presets that include things like input and output, volume level, screen UI, etc. -An IR remote learning feature would be nice since it doesn't come with a remote. So I could teach my Apple TV remote to control the volume while streaming. -The volume scaling is quite odd. I'm listening via coax output and there is 0 volume until about 50% and then the increments get very large near the end of the range. When listening via Spotify connect, a single click on the volume up button in the app makes a huge change in perceived loudness.
- Option to change the left-right swipe behavior on the playback screen. I would like to skip songs with left/right swipe, instead of changing the playback layout. We already have a setting that sets the default playback artwork layout. Or add another button, which would cycle through all the layouts.
Strongly second this. Auto-sense of HDMI and Optical is a must for anyone who wants to use the Play with a tv. I'm really disliking having to wake up the Play manually every time I want to watch TV. Wiim amp has this basic feature, so should Play.
Allow Subwoofer Output to remain on when using Coax or USB output, please. Right now it disabled if not using internal amp, I would love to be able to use the Sub pre-out in addition to external DAC and Amp.
Bring back the bit-depth and sample rate display for the Apple Music app when on the spectrum display modes. It disappeared starting 1.5.05.
It's an optimization consideration when we design. The speaker playing belongs to the direct output of the streamer, the sampling rate information has little influence on the playing experience. And too many parameters will make the interface appear complicated. If you need to view the sampling rate information, you can switch to the digital output or connect to an external decoder, and the system will display the sampling rate of the current audio in full.
I appreciate your letting us know that this is not something that will be coming in a future update. But it's disappointing that Play doesn't have and won't get this basic functionality.
They are not ACTIVE speakers. They are a DAC + AMP + SPEAKERS. The Eversolo does not (and actually, unavoiding phase problems, cannot) output both ANALOG and DIGITAL at the same time.
They are totally active speakers so I’m not sure why the argument. And in fact there is no DAC, the digital coax goes straight to the digital amps without conversion, one of the selling points. the wiim ultra can do it at less than half the price so I don’t know why Eversolo can’t. Subs come with a phase adjustment dial so I also don’t see an issue with phase. Given wiim can do it I’m sure the eversolo could do it too. It just hasn’t been implemented. Hence why this has been put into the enhancement request thread.
Are you saying the speakers have a direct-digital (GAM... or whatever was its naming) amplifiers? Then, of course, you won't suffer any phase problems (despite that you could always adjust it on your sub, as you say). Unfortunately, the Eversolo does not make digital AND analog outputs at the same time. I presume your amps do not have any analog output, as they DO NOT have any DAC inside... if you really need this, I think you might need an external DAC, for your sub. Then, if the Eversolo can output simultaneously on 2 digital outputs, use the coax for your actives, and any (suitable) other for the sub's DAC. For the sub you might just need something like the Topping D30 (or something, cannot remember); just very small, simple, inexpensive DAC. I cannot think of any other solution, sorry. HTH
Is autosense for inputs like Optical / Coax In is possible? I use the Play as an AMP for my nearfield setup. The device is arm's reach. Most of the time, I'm using Spotify Connect, but sometimes I want to play a youtube video and listen to it on my speakers. In this case, every time I have to go to Input selection and manually switch to Optical In. Can't we just have auto sense feature, and switch to the new input based on a priority list or something?
Device Playlists and other Device Settings was perfekt…Or Export the musik files from the Device Playlist in a Folder…This was a helpfull option in next update….So can i the playlist store for my car…
