Ok, so I have downloaded the latest 1.22.2 firmware. Here's my experience:

    - Good news is that with the new firmware, Dolby and DTS tracks (haven't tested PCM or AAC yet) show now the same audio/video time difference of about 40ms ahead of the video signal (the same difference I get with my Nvidia/Windows HTPC).
To solve that, I set the "Menu/Global Audio Offset" to "50ms delayed" -> on a sidenote, it would be great if the "Global Audio Offset" could be set in 1ms or at least 10ms increments and not only in 25ms increments.

    - The new specific Dolby and DTS audio offset options do not work as expected. When setting the "Menu/Global Audio Offset" slider to 0 and setting a delay of 40ms or greater in the specific Dolby or DTS audio offsets, there is absolutely no change in the audio/video time difference. It's as if the delay setting is ignored by both Dolby or DTS tracks. Only when setting these offsets to x ms ahead do these offsets work as expected.
As I was able to solve my issue with the Global Audio Offset, I haven't done anymore in-depth testing with the new specific offset options.

    - The above described behaviour is the same whether the Denon AVC-X6700H lipsync is set to on or off.

    - The above described behaviour is the same whether the Zidoo Passthrough Compatible Mode is set to on or off.

    Hello,
I also have the problem with out-of-sync sound with the different sound formats.
I haven't had the media player for very long and am looking for correlations between the different sound formats.

Does Dolby Atmos seem to have a different time shift than DTS... I have found that out in the meantime. Is it possible to limit the time shift to which sound formats and enter it permanently? Is it then always the same time shift for different films as long as the sound format is the same?

Can you give me a link to test files (for example with the bouncing ball) to determine the correct synchronicity in the different sound formats?

    Many thanks

You should switch on Passthrough Compatible Mode in Audio settings as this mitigates issues with non-compliant TrueHD soundtracks.

There are separate audio offsets for DTS and Dolby codecs in Settings and a global offset available in the player context menu. Generally they are not needed.

Your projector will most likely introduce a video delay but it should be included in its EDID so as long as the IOTAVX is setup to accept it, it will compensate. If you use a custom EDID with a projector you have to make sure the EDID has a matching entry for Latency.

If you post the EDID for the projector on its own (player connected directly to the PJ) I can confirm what the delay introduced by the PJ is.

    To Download EDID

    Settings/Display/Custom EDID/Save EDID

Save to a USB stick or network location

Post file as attachment to forum

I have to do some further testing, however I'm sad to say that the lipsync issue persists with DTS-HD MA (whilst all other DTS formats are fine - even without the use of the DTS offset).

Prior to 1.22.2 all DTS formats exhibited the lipsync issue consistently so the global DTS offset was desirable. Ironically however, the lipsync issue was fixed broadly and thus the offset isn't required any more, and indeed in this case offers no value either as it's only HD MA that is affected.

I'd appreciate it if anyone who had the issue before could try to replicate.

The issue very much persists for me.....

So the way I worked around the issue was to attach the Z9x 8K directly to my Sony A95L and output the sound via eARC to my Denon 3800h.

This is all well and good, no sync issue, but for some reason audio output via eARC isn't always recognized as the native audio type, for example Dolby True HD would show Dolby Sur TV (or something like that). Atmos would be OK, but other audio types I think mostly Dolby would not not show correctly on my amp, leaving me to believe they must be affected in someway by eARC through the Sony.

I put up with this for a while for the sake of having no sync issues, but after this recent firmware update I thought I'd give it another go direct through the amp, as it should be set.

Same old sync issues, queue me spending hours going back and forth with the two audio offsets.

The closest I can get them are:

    Dolby 110ms delay
    DTS 90ms delay

I still think the DTS codecs produce slightly different delays but I haven't tested exhaustively.

One reason why I'm so keen to get this working through my amp is I want to attach a HDD to the player for media and there's no easy way to monut it behind my TV, so in the AV cabinet is much preferred.

Can anyone recommend a similar media player that 'just works' ? I've been mucking around with this player since September last year and had enough really.

Still have some issues on my zidoo z9x 8k - denon x1700h - sony a80l

Auto frame rate match and resolution - out of sync with almost everything apart from dolby formats

Enabling motionflow on my sony corrects it a little for whatever reason, the only thing that helps is putting 50ms delay in the av

Zidoo z9x 8k - sony a80l - denon x1700h with earc works, theres no audio delay but cant play all formats and quality is lower

I have a delay on all DTS formats (note a Denon AVR). I set a DTS global delay in settings.

Crazy, I didn't have any audio problem until I switched to the Z9X 8K (from a Z9X), now it's out of sync. Crazy we have a slider which (apparently) has a minimum of 10ms steps and can't be displayed during playback. I just can't believe my Z9X 8K is worse than my Z9X and I have to manually hotfix that after launching a movie. So far, to have an acceptable sync, I had to set a -50ms on the global settings and an additional -25ms (which is now the minimum step) on the advanced settings during playback. Since I am not supposed to meddle with that stuff, I'm quite upset, how am I supposed to trust the result of that supposedly high fidelity box when it's not even syncing video and sound properly on files which were perfectly synced with no particular settings whatsoever on my previous box (I'm not even sure those settings existed actually).
My setup is quite simpe, hdmi from zidoo to TV, and audio passthrough from TV to DAC (spdif). I had to turn on the audio compatiblity thingy because video was stuttering (lovely first contact with the new box). Now this.

    What a lame experience.

[edit] today, no delay, had to remove the settings. I don't know if I should feel relieved or brace for a rollercoaster. 'cause yesterday, the movie suddenly stopped playing, SMB wasn't reached anymore and I had to reboot the box. I'm loving it already.
[edit nÂș2] today, delay is back, seems random, lovely. Around 50ms I'd say. Feels like using VLC -_-
