Thanks for the information. I'll have to try ripping a stereo/multichannel SACD as an ISO and try playing the file with the DMP-A6.
Not sure what you mean as far as where your front speakers come into play as far as using or not using Dirac or a similar room correction system.

They have their own room correction and bass management.

So you prefer to not use the bass management and Dirac with your speakers? What speakers are they? I ask as earlier you posted
So I'm not sure what you mean by that. Do you find your system sounds better with bass management and Dirac disabled or enabled?
I would think having your front left and right speakers with Dirac enabled but the center and surrounds without Dirac processing would not sound very good. How do you set the speaker volume levels so they match? How do you set the speaker distances? Not all 5.1 music mixes have the "core" of the music or "primary stereo image" in the front left and right speakers. Do the front left and right speakers match (same brand) the center and surround speakers?

I use Dirac only with video content. When I listen to multichannel music i use Direct mode, it bypasses the AVR processing. It is not possible to choose to what speakers apply processing. But I still have bass management and room correction within the front speakers. It is independent from the AVR. I sit very close to the rear speakers but in case the front are too loud, I can still manage their volume with the app. When I listen to regular 2 channels, i don't use the AVR at all, the signal goes to the preamplifier and then to the speakers.

Speakers are Dutch & Dutch 8c active monitors https://dutchdutch.com/collections/8c-speaker. If you are curious here is a Youtube review of Erin's Audio Corner . If you want to know more about its numbers, on Erin's site you can find measurements too.

I can't tell you technically why, but I like more when I listen to music with Direct mode, it sounds much more alive. Dirac is kind of flattening it, it sounds very good but feels less engaging......my very personal experience..
