The ripping places the FLAC files wherever you nominate. Most people use the internally fitted NVME option, but you can nominate an external SSD drive if you wish. I use a Crucial P3 NVME 1 Tb drive and there are absolutely no problems to report, it has worked flawlessly for the last year. You don't need a very expensive optical drive, I use a venerable GP57 model from Hitachi-LG, again absolutely no problems. The only thing I would say as regards connecting all your USB devices to the A6 is to think about purchasing a powered USB3 hub, then you can connect your CD drive, external SSD etc to the top OTG port simultaneously without worrying about current draw limits on the A6.

I would like to control Apple Music from my phone without using Cast, similar to how Qobuz or Tidal do it.
Additionally, I would like Apple Music to play multichannel streams via HDMI (setting "PCM Audio: PCM Multichannel" in the HDMI settings still results in stereo output when playing a multichannel track).

    Screenshot_20240727_165406_Gallery.jpg Hi @mirror
I am very satisfied with the Eversolo A6, but I really miss a few things.
I would very much like to add the metadata in Tidal: the total time of the album, which I miss a lot (when recording) and the numerical designation of the songs (the number is better remembered than the name), as I indicated in the picture.
I am a seller of the Eversolo and Zidoo brands, and my customers with whom I communicate would very much welcome it and be grateful.
    Please do it.
    Well thank you.

The factory setting for the ESS chip's DPLL bandwidth for DSD is quite sensitive and leads to intermittent noise blasts from some sources (including the one I use, unfortunately) when feeding DSD to the DAC in the A6.

Other DAC manufacturers have addressed this by either changing the DSD DPLL setting in the chip to 15 (decreasing sensitivity of the ESS DAC chip to clock stability in DSD mode), or by making the DPLL BW setting user adjustable.

With Eversolo's advanced user interface, one would think this a user adjustable setting could be easily implemented with an update, but I've been emailing Eversolo about the issue and the fix for the past 6 months with no indication yet of interest in addressing the issue, so I thought I'd post here rather than giving up hope.

IIRC that's a sync parameter for the optical SPDIF... what about using USB instead?

The transport I am using does not have a USB out. The digital audio data is being transmitted via Coax SPDIF.

    Hi all
    Enhanced CDs support please
or at least avoid the infinite search for the cd data and keep the possibility of ejecting the disk: try an enhanced CD with a superdrive (without eject button)...
    thank you

Can I request that the digital output doesn't stop when you pause, skip track, fast forward etc?
Any time I do something like that my dac has to resync. None of my other sources behaved like this, after power up they would remain synced until either powered off or the sample rate changes.
If I want to hear the start of another track I have to set a long delay which makes browsing songs painfully laggy. I think the delay should only apply to changing sample rate and the rest of the time the unit should be writing zeros (figuratively) whilst not playing music, rather than turning the digital output off.

Totally agree (BTW, "writing zeroes" is usually called "playing silence").

Yes please. I have about 10 CDs I can't play. I don't care about if we can show meta data or not, just let me play them please. Thanks so much.

When using USB audio out to an external DAC, does the volume control within the A6 allow the user to change the volume levels or is the USB audio out set at a fixed volume?

The digital volume control does function on the USB output, just set the volume passthrough appropriately.

  16. I would like to have a logo in the upper row that says HI-RES when playing a track with more than 16 bit and over 44.1 kHz.

The latest firmware is great, since it adds M3U support.

    I miss the following though:
    - cross play mode: this feature fades one song into the next when you skip tracks. (Not when the song is played to the very end)
    - upload M3U using the web interface. Simply add "m3u|" in function checkFileName(fileName) in file transfer.js.

    • Added a show/hide setting for music services.
In next update you can add same also to the rest services:

    Music
    Music services
    Music cloud driver
    Music connect

this will be great to use only what you have.

Music cloud driver and Music connect are part of the edit function under Music services, so you can remove those from the menu.

I guess, it would be nice to have the edit function under Music as well.
