Control or Mirror on TV

I subscribe to Amazon Music, but I don't like their Roku or Android apps. They don't have gapless playback. I get around this by using the Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 with gapless playback enabled. I find that tracks stream better on the A6 than the Roku or TV, too. It seems more stable.

However, the touchscreen on the A6 is too small to see when I am watching TV in bed. I don't like the Eversolo remote control (not enough features) or using the Eversolo Control app on my iPad (which takes too long to boot and requires me to put on my glasses). What I'd like is an Eversolo app for Roku or my Android TV and be able to control it with the remote control for one of these devices. Or some way to mirror its screen on the TV and be able to contol it as easily as a Roku app.

If it could do this, I'd buy another A6 tomorrow and keep one in the bedroom and the other connected to the stereo in my living room.

I use a product similar to the link above by connecting it to Eversolo and connecting the HDMI output to a TV or monitor.

You need to install a separate app and there is a slight delay, but it is possible to output to a large screen.

I am an operator of the Eversolo community in Korea, and there is a related article in this community. ( https://cafe.naver.com/eversolo/242 )

You can probably understand it just by looking at the pictures.

So you are able to sideload an app on the Eversolo that sends video output through the usb output ?

Yes. What I tested was that HDMI output was confirmed when playing YouTube videos in the YouTube app. In the case of YouTube videos, there is a delay compared to the original screen, and there are also occasional frame drops.

However, the unfortunate thing is that Apple Music music videos did not have HDMI output due to DRM issues. No screen was displayed on the external monitor.

In my opinion, I think I should be satisfied with the HDMI output to the extent that I can see the Eversolo playback screen in a large size.

Thanks for your responses. I'm not sure that I fully understand them, though. A bit more information would be helpful.

First, if possible, I'd like to continue using my Loxjie D60 DAC, as it has the latest flagship ESS chip (better than the one used on the Eversolo) and I prefer the way it sounds.

Scenario #1 - Using the Zidoo Z9X Media Player:

    - Are you saying that I should connect this to my TV (in addition to, or in place of my Roku Ultra) and stream through that instead of buying a second A6?

    - If so, how do I connect it? I'm guessing LAN cable from my router, HDMI to my TV, and USB to my DAC.

    - How do I use it? I suppose I would navigate to the HDMI port on for the Z9X, open an Amazon Music app (or install one, if it isn't there), and then use it as I would a Roku or Android app.

    - Then, theortically, my music would stream using the Z9X and the Android Amazon Music app, the same way the A6 does with EOS, bypassing the Amazon apps bugginess regarding gapless playback, etc.?

    - Assuming the above works, how do I use it? Does it come with a remote that will let me navigate to my music on Amazon? That would be ideal.

Scenario #2 - Using the Wavlink USB 3.0 (4k model, in my case):

    - I am really not sure what to connect to what.

    - Is the Eversolo used in this setup? If so, is the audio going through the HDMI connection (as well as the video)?

    - I didn't like the HDMI audio using the Eversolo. There was way too much high end for my taste. The coax connection sounded okay, but seemed to be prone to dropouts and other anomolies on my system. The optical connection was more stable and sounded better to my ears. The USB connection (using the cable that came with the unit) going through the Loxjie D60 was the best. The only problem was, I couldn't figure out how to mirror the video display of the Eversolo to my TV monitor.

    Thanks.

Please refer to the text and photos in the link below. (You will understand it more quickly if you translate it into English in Chrome browser. Since it is a posting aimed at Koreans, it is written in Korean.)

It is not the same product as the Amazon link, but there are various USB to HDMI adapters that connect to Android products.

The product I used is also a product that connects to the USB OTG terminal on the back of the Eversolo and converts it to HDMI video and outputs it.

If you use a USB external DAC, you must power on again(or reboot) the external DAC after connecting this product so that the external DAC can be recognized by Eversolo. Otherwise, the HDMI adapter will be recognized as an external DAC, and you will not be able to hear the sound you want from the actual external DAC. If you leave out this part, I think it will be the solution you want.

And Eversolo's screen output is 720p, so you do not necessarily need to use a 4K product. If you connect it in high resolution, the delay will only get worse.

Right now, I own one Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2. I have connected it to my powered speakers and CD player in my living room. I also have a Loxjie D60 DAC, connected to the TV in my bedroom. I currently stream through the Roku Amazon Music app.
If I understand you correctly, if I were to connect a Wavlink USB 3.0 to my bedroom TV, I would need anothe DMP-A6 (which is what I was considering).

However, if I were to buy a Zidoo Z9X Media Player instead, I would not need another A6 to be able to control it from the TV. That certainly would be less expensive, since it sells for about 1/3 the price. I'd like to know more about how to connect and operate it, though.

This from AVS forum (re: Zidoo Z9X):
    • "You can also download Amazon music app but I found it's limited to 48kHz only, no bit perfect playback, but it's there if you want it."
I'm not sure if that's better or worse than the lag you mention when mirroring the A6.

    Thanks. That's very helpful.

Just wondering if there is any way to get confirmation from Zidoo that the app will install and play as designed before buying and installing one of these. Has any one tried this, or tried it themselves?

Zidoo store on Amazon now saying that it "probably" will not support Amazon Music.

The problem for me is that just using any old device that supposedly supports the Android Amazon Music app may not work. I can load the Amazon Music app now on my Android TV and it will play music. It just won't play it well. No gapless playback. If I am listening to a classical piece with a movement that lasts 30 min or more, the player just stops dead after that and won't play the rest of the piece unless I shut down the app and restart it. Worse, I sometimes get random dropouts or noises that sound like loud bursts of static in some pieces.

The good thing about the Eversolo A6 is that it has none of those issues when I select Amazon Music the first time I see it after turning the unit on (under Streaming -- rather than scrolling down under Apps, where it also appears). I was given to understand that the former bypasses the code written by Amazon (which I believe is responsible for all the trouble that I have been having with this) and uses the code that Eversolo wrote to bypass this. (I'm not 100% sure on this. I'm going by what the seller told me. Also, the fact that, doing it this way actually works and eliminates all the problems I had with the Amazon Music app on my smart TV and my Roku Ultra).

If I can do the same thing on the Zidoo box for 1/3 the cost, I'd prefer that. But the seller's recent statements suggest that, sure it will play something, but might have all the same issues that I am currently experiencing with the Amazon Music app on my TV and Roku.

The Zidoo/Eversolo boxes use an Android based OS like a phone uses it is not Android TV OS based. Different APP database and different compatibility (and problems).
Android TV is excellent for streaming Video services. Android for Smart Phones is far better for Streaming Audio services as these are meant to be used on phones, tablets not on a TV. Some AMP's like my Onkyo do support Streaming Audio quite well too.

Still struggling with this. I ended up getting another DMP-A6 and I guess I'm looking for something like you described above. But I am still not sure I understand why the connection has to go from a USB port to an HDMI.

My TV has available HDMI and USB ports. It was my understanding that HDMI can carry audio signals or audio with video. However, neither HDMI port on the A6 worked when connected to my TV.

Unfortunately, I don't have any spare USB ports on the A6. One is currently going to my computer, the other is connected to an external DAC.

All I am trying to do is mirror the screen on the A6 on my TV and be able to control it (either with the remote for the Eversolo, the TV, or whatever device has to go between them to make this all work).

    Thanks.

The DMP-A6 models were designed with an Audio only HDMI output port supporting DSD. These ports never will carry any Video signal as it is HW restricted.
These ports can be found also on selected Zidoo models as a 2nd HDMI audio/dsd only output.

After connecting the USB HUB in the link to the Eversolo OTG terminal, connect the PC and the USB to HDMI adapter to the USB hub port. I am also using this product to connect a CD drive, a USB to HDMI adapter, and an external HDD. Since the Eversolo's HDMI terminal is an audio-only output terminal, video output is not possible.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

BTW - How do you control the A6 when you are mirroring its screen on the TV? Do you use the Eveversolo remote, the remote from the TV, or what?

I didn't have the space for the items you mentioned, so this is what I got:

    https://a.co/d/bS3z2Mv and https://a.co/d/7GBwGkc

This did not work. All I got was the sound from the Eversolo coming out of the little speakers built in to my TV, bypassing my powered studio monitors.

The Eversolo OTG terminal appears to be audio only.

The usb to hdmi cable you bought obviously won't work. The usb to hdmi adapter I linked is a product that converts android videos to hdmi and outputs them through a separate app. You won't get the results you want with the product you bought. I also bought and tested several products for hdmi output and ended up finding a product like the one in the link above.
