The Z10 arrived this morning (UK) and the only issue I had was connecting it to the EverSolo control app. The unit can only connect via Bluetooth as it is not networked. Within the app, although the Z10 was showing, when trying to pair it came up with “Scan failed, device powered on”, “Rescan”.
I figured that you need to force the Bluetooth on and here is how you do that:

    On the Z10 main screen
    1. Select the “Source In”
    2. Scroll left to reveal “Bluetooth In”
    3. Select that
This forces the Bluetooth to activate
    4. Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings
    5. Select the “DAC-Z10_72” to connect
    6. Go to the EverSolo control app
    7. Add device and select Z series and Z10
    8. Pair

Unlike the T8 it would appear that you can only have one device connected via Bluetooth to the Z10 at a time. I suspect because you connect to the T8 via the wifi network which the Z10 doesn’t have.

The next tip if you’re trying to connect the T8 to the Z10 via I2S is to select configuration #4 on both units.

Thanks for the tip. Could you elaborate why #4 should be selected for IIS ?

    Put this prompt into ChatGPT:

Why is it recommended to use the 4th configuration in the i2s settings on the EverSolo T8 and Z10 for connecting them together as opposed to any of the others?

    Short answer:
Because I²S Config #4 matches EverSolo’s native clock polarity, LRCLK phase, and bit alignment, it’s the format the T8 and Z10 are designed to use internally. It’s the only mode where the timing, channels, and DSD flags line up perfectly, giving a clean, error-free, bit-perfect link. The other configs are for compatibility with third-party DACs and can cause channel swaps, clock mismatches, or noise when used between EverSolo devices.

Happy to be corrected, by the way. ChatGPT isn’t always correct, but this was all I could find on I2S.

    I see. Thank you.

In fact this is the standard Bluetooth connecting procedure for most devices not using a PIN.

New Member and I've tried unsuccessfully to connect using the app so I concluded the Z10 is not supported yet.

Not sure about this GPT statement. Mode 1 (default on both) is also working.
The I2S "configurator" here https://www.magnahifi.com/de/i2s-compatibility-configuration-guide tells Mode 1 is the right selection.

As i have also a DMP-A8 and it hasn't the config available for I2S which looks like config 4 on Z10/T8, it has 2 availale like Config 1 (look at the DSD/PCM Pin) so i think Mode 1 is correct to get T8 and A8 working. Config 4 if set on both may work between Z10 and T8 but not Z10 and A8, so config 1 may be the general one all Eversolo devices will work with the Z10 DAC.
