I have a new Z30 pro. I have made backup copies of various Blu Rays and HD disks using the MKV backup feature (running on a mac). I have also converted those to .ISO files, also on the mac. Using a new HDD in the Z30, it will scan the files just fine, can read whether it's blu-ray, HD, etc. But nothing will play, either from a folder structure or an .iso. I get a very non-specific "Can't Play Video" alert, and that's it. I haven't been able to find an error log. Any ideas including where I might find the error log are appreciated. I could see making the .iso on a Mac being an issue, but I don't think the folder structure should be the cause as that's not Mac specific. The HDD was formatted as NTFS using the Z30. One consideration is to try exFat, but if the drive is readable in any way in the NTFS format, which it is, I'm not sure how this might help.
The answer was a decryption issue. Using MakeMKV, I've never paid attention to decryption. Decryption needs to be checked when making a backup, otherwise Zidoo can't play it.
On my Mac, MakeMKV works beautifully. No issues whatsoever with the Z20 Pro but only I rip the main title. No iso and my HDD are formatted with Exfat.
