I'm thinking of getting a Z9X 8K. I have a number of Dolby Atmos TrueHD tracks in MKA format. I'm wondering of the Z9X can play them. I tried searching the forum but I get no results because MKA is too short as a search term. Also, if the unit can play my MKA files, is it possible to create playlists with songs in MKA format?
MKA is the sound format if you simply extract from a MKV file using mkvtoolnix rather than a program like Inviska MKV Extract or MKV Cleaver that extracts the audio component in its correct format
I'm not sure that I understand this answer. I have already created the MKA files. They are in the correct audio format and the video component has been stripped out. I'm not looking for an explanation of what MKA files are or how to extract them. I already know that. What I need to know is whether a Z9X 8K can play the MKA files that I already have and whether it will allow me to create playlists with my MKA tracks.
Go back and do it again with the original MKV files but use either of the programs I mentioned. Simply remuxing and leaving out the video etc will result in MKV producing its proprietary format MKA
I'm still not sure that I understand. I already have perfectly good MKA files. I created them using Lossless Extract directly from the original blu-ray disk without any intervening MKV file. They work fine for me right now. They play from my laptop connected to my A/V preamp via HDMI. I'm wanting something connected directly to my A/V system that can play these files. The only questions that I'm trying to get and answer to are (1) if I buy a Z9X 8K, will I be able to play them through it, and (2) Will I be able to create playlists of multiple MKA tracks from different disks.
Ah! A bit more information Do you have a Zidoo at the moment? My own previous experience is they will not play MKA as a standalone audio file. I’ll make a mka file later today and test it in case one of the updates has added it. I’ve used Invisaka to extract the audio from a MKV file. It doesn’t produce mka files
Just tried one in music player 7 (Zidoo) and video player and yes they played ok. I extracted a mka file from an episode of Westworld via a MKV file using mkvtoolnix and it played the mka. I did have a list of supported audio codecs year ago but I fear I’ve lost it. Anyway it supports MKA which it didn’t when I first got my UHD3000. I don’t listen to music via Zidoo, video only. I use my iphone.
AI comparison Comparison between Zidoo and the Z9X 8K and an Nvidia Shield Pr The Zidoo Z9X 8K is a specialized local media player superior for high-bitrate, 4K/8K HDR10+ and Dolby Vision (Profile 7/FEL) playback, while the Nvidia Shield Pro excels as a versatile streaming box (Netflix, Disney+) and gaming device. Zidoo offers better picture quality (PQ) and native ISO support, whereas Shield provides a better smart TV interface. Zidoo Z9X 8K vs. Nvidia Shield Pro Local Content Playback (NAS/USB/HDD): Zidoo Z9X 8K: Superior. It supports full Blu-ray menu, ISO, BDMV, and Dolby Vision FEL (Full Enhancement Layer), providing better color and brightness handling. Nvidia Shield Pro: Good, but relies on third-party apps like Plex or Kodi. It has limitations with certain file formats and does not support Dolby Vision Profile 7 (uses MEL instead). Picture Quality & Processing: Zidoo Z9X 8K: Offers better, cleaner PQ with advanced AI image enhancement (AI PQ/AI Super Image) and more accurate HDR handling. Nvidia Shield Pro: Good upscaling, but sometimes criticized for a slight red tint in DV compared to Zidoo and less precise color management. Streaming Services (Netflix, Prime, etc.): Zidoo Z9X 8K: Poor. It lacks Netflix certification, limiting most streaming to low resolution, though it supports apps like YouTube. Nvidia Shield Pro: Excellent. It is fully certified for 4K streaming with Atmos/Vision. Audio Support: Zidoo Z9X 8K: Supports all formats, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, often with more stable bitstreaming. Nvidia Shield Pro: Excellent pass-through capabilities, but requires proper setup to avoid issues. Interface & User Experience: Zidoo Z9X 8K: Uses its proprietary HomeTheater5.0, which is fantastic for managing local posters and metadata, but the OS is not designed for streaming. Nvidia Shield Pro: Runs Android TV/Google TV, offering a user-friendly experience for apps. Which one to choose? Choose Zidoo Z9X 8K if: You are a cinephile with a large local collection (4K Remux), want the best HDR/Dolby Vision/Audio, and have a separate device for streaming. Choose Nvidia Shield Pro if: You primarily stream apps (Netflix), play games, and occasionally watch local files via Plex.
All my audio files from a Blu-ray (DTS-HD Master and Dolby TrueHD) are in FLAC format, and my audio files from a DTS-CD or DVD-A are in WAV format. They play very well with Zidoo Music Player on a Z9X 8K. Y never use wma
Oh, please don't do that. There's no need to post this AI content here. The question was a simple request for an owner to test whether MKA plays and whether it can be added to a playlist.
Because MKA is a Matroska audio container, it can be played with the video player only and not the music player.
Please guys I need help on how to update Google play store of my zidoo z9x 8k please help with the link
Do you have the regular firmware version or the version ending in _G installed? Unless something has changed and I haven’t caught up you need the G version to access the store.
