I am in the planning stages of my setup and want to make sure I get this correct. Can I use the A10 as a streamer, USB to another DAC, then use Balanced XLR connection back to the A10, then Balanced XLR from the A10 to my amp? I want to do this so I can use the balanced input on my amp (it only has one) and use 2 DACs (A10 and another external DAC) and switch between them depending on the track and my mood. I don't think you can do that, as the player in the A10 can be either playing to output on the USB, or playing what enters it through its XLRs; IOW, it is not an audio router / mixer.
Hi Rumpystilskin, unfortunately you might not be successful in going back into the A10 in that particular way or use of operation, when I use my external Dac’s coming out of the A8 USB or SPDIF , I2S. ect, then I must then run the output of that Dac into my preamp in my current or particular setup , as their are no actual provisions to enable such use, you certainly can use the external Dac’s outputs going into the Eversolo if you have for example another source like a CD player or transport, or other devices ect , going into the external Dac’s of your liking and then into your A10’s , L & R inputs / RCA or XLR, then output from your A 10 , to preamp or amps ect, but again not what we would call daisy chaining in that particular way of hookup as you so desire to perform , the user can only select, 1 input and 1 output source at a time, it would certainly be useful, very welcome if these units could operate more effectively like a Hub for any input or output controller no matter the choice, keeping in mind this was not the intent or design in overall operational function or use, their are purpose designed available adapter devices , which I do use from time to time mainly to convert my I2s output into other forms of output for other types of applications , unfortunately these particular devices would not be of any use to yourself in this particular situation in which you so desire, somewhat nice to know such devices are available, and do work quite well, their are actual outboard hubs and other work arounds that you may desire, it’s all good but their are certainly some challenges and limitations, in regards to such matters in general use of Connections , * Note / At one time this could be enabled on the A8, then after one particular update,upgrade Eversolo had removed it. Why ? Actually IDK but they did state that this particular selection feature would absolutely only be available on the new DMP A 10 , this unit was not released at this particular time. Then the A-10 was available shortly after. So naturally I have no absolute idea as to what actually transpired , but I do know it had created problems for quite a few people here that were already in use of the A8, naturally, most folks here don’t remember this goes back to the end of 2024 , or approximately the beginning of 2025, I would certainly recommend you recheck all information on this particular matter, in this specific instance beforehand, or actually committing to this unit, if this is an absolute requirement, as it seriously was for many folks in my part of the world, including myself, this is the main reason for the above statement in adapters, however Wishing you the very best of luck Please have a wonderful week ……
