Best settings for Multi Channel output

My Lyngdorf surround processor does not always register SACD/DSD 5.1 input even though I set DSD to PCM on the A6.
Are there any other settings that might help?
For example does Passthrough volume have to be on or could EOS settings make a difference?

    Thanks!

    I'm using HDMI output

If you want the Lyngdorf processor display to show DSD did you set the "HDMI output" "DSD audio" setting to "Native (DSD Native)"? If it's set to "D2P (DSD to PCM)" the display will not indicate DSD as it's converting DSD to PCM.

Thanks for your reply. The lyngdorf doesn't decode DSD . It has to be converted to PCM but I can try. Sorry, I didn't explain that

I get it now. What HDMI output setting are you using when it connects intermittently? If you're currently using "Native (DSD Native)" try one of the other two settings which are "Auto" or "D2P (DSD to PCM)".

DSD native won't work because the Lyngdorf can't decode it so I'm using D2P but that doesn't work with 5.1 SACD's all the time.
I'm just wondering if there's any other settings that I can try such as passthrough on or off.
    Thanks again

No passthrough at all, since the Lingdorf doesn't understand DSD.
Your other choice could be DoP (DSD over PCM), but YMMV.
TBH D2P should be the best choice, as your DAC would be seeing a PCM stream. The fact that this doesn't work every time with SACDs remains a mystery to me; maybe multichannel PCM is not being converted properly? Maybe it is not supported as a format transported over HDMI?

Thanks for your help. I just noticed that when I restart the A6 and the Lyngdorf it works again but probably will stop working again after I turn everything off.
I need to try this a couple of times to see if this is the issue.
