Apologize if this has been covered before but new to Eversolo with my purchase of the PLAY and confused on App vs Services. For example, I see Amazon Music and Qobuz listed under Music Services, but also under Apps section. Selecting, say Amazon Music, under Services functions differently or should I say appears differently than if I open Amazon Music from under Apps section. Thus my question is, is there any advantage of using the apps from Services section vs Apps? Is it just a matter of which app seems to perform better or is the quality streamed better from one or the other? Again, new to Eversolo and just confused to see it listed multiple times. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I received my Play two days ago and l’ve been asking myself the same question. Curious to see responses. In my case, TuneIn under Music Services keeps crashing since I tried to log in my account, so it’s unusable. The TuneIn app in the Apps section however works as it should.

Services are using Eversolo own integrations to access and use those streaming services. When using the Eversolo apps search it will give you results from all services you configure and you can search and play each service easily using the Eversolo app.

Apps are Android apps same as would be on a phone or tablet. They allow you to use the native app for the streaming services but require to use touch screen or screen cast on the Eversolo app. As sometimes API can limit features available to 3rd parties having both gives you the best of both worlds. Personally I would use services and forget the app as they don’t work that well on the landscape screen. Apple Music App however is required to be used to get hires and lossless. The Eversolo AM service is just lossy as it uses the webapi. Other streaming services are only apps as they don’t provide an API for Eversolo to integrate nicely.
