hi , every time i switch on the power source on my room wall (connected to it the power cable for the tv , av receiver , and other equipments , including the x9s) , the x9s turns on by itself.... and honestly i don't want to keep on using the power switch on the back of the x9s.....
so is there a way to keep it off (whenever the main power source is switched on) ? , and then just switch it on whenever needed?
i suffered the same issue with x6 pro and never experienced it with others brands of android boxes. thanks

i don't think so. Box is designed to power on when pluged in. Most of them are. Not sure what brand you had with nox not powering on when pluged in

Other Android TV devices I've tested do the same, starts when powered.
Also my TV and my DTVB decoder do the same...
And don't think is possible to change this behaviour.

For TV's in Europe this is simply forbidden in most countries. Most go back to the state they were in before the power cut or come back in standby. All my Philips TV's do so.
The reason is simple. Image your TV is set at a relative high volume and you went on holiday for several weeks.
During the holiday there is a short power-cut. The TV may be shouting now for the full remaining of your holiday day and night.
The neighbors in your apartment will know to find you for sure when finally coming back (if they did not call police/fire-brigade to pull the plug) .

Yes, agreed many media players do this. Have seen it also on many products. But in my perception it still is absolutely the wrong behavior.

Of course it can be changed for well designed players. At power up the device looks first for the emergency boot (Pin, Button) being pressed. Only if pressed it next looks for a flash image. If either not found it (=bootloader program) can be programmed to go into standby mode rather than booting up .
Some cheap media players don't know a real standby mode and just have a sleeping mode which is a dubious state by nature. It is tolerated by law as long as consumption remains below 1W within Europe (2W having a permanently on display).

Agree, going in stand-by mode is the correct way.
    ...if possible...

well. a warkaround is to have a timer, if box not used, enter standby. this sould be easy to do with software. But x9s standby its a little strange. Seems more like a poweroff then a standby

hi , minix products (minix U1) , himedia q10 pro and even beelink R89.... i don't mind the stand by mode when the main power source is switched on. my issue is with direct booting of zidoo products (x9s and x6 pro) whenever i power on the main source for my electrical equipments..... thanks

yah. i understand your problem. but i don't think the power chip in zidoo boxes can do what you want. most i can think is the workaround posted above. If zidoo wants/can implement it

Maybe we can offer an option that does not automatically turn on when the power is plugged in, but what happens in some extreme cases (such as remote control failure)

extreme cases are extreme , and air mouse controllers with IR learning feature are a perfect remedy for any issue related to remote control failure....
believe it or not , i'm keeping my x9s aside for now just because of the powering-on-by-itself feature... yeah , i'm suffering minor stutters with 1080p mkv files from my external hard drives and also stutters when using YouTube default app. , but those issues can be managed as compared to the power issue... (mkv files are some how tolerable , and YouTube playback stutter is handled by using the android tv version , even if i do prefer the default one.... thanks a lot...
