I stream from the local SSD and get frozen, the system just stop working and I cannot get any response from it. I have to turn off and turn on the switch at the back of unit. A third time already in two weeks. Is this only my unit or something on the 1.5.62 firmware? Any suggestions.
Hi nsb, just passing through. I had noted your post, the exact situation. I am having a present, I am currently using DMP A8, this particular unit has operated and worked absolutely flawlesslley it will be coming up approximately 2 years and use, the very latest update or upgrade that you so described this precisely when these occurrences or minor malfunctions have started to occur. exactly as you stated again with the on and off procedure. I absolutely believe in personal point of view. It is not the fault and overall operation of the units. These problems are occurring in these updates and upgrades that we are taking, speaking in terms of my particular case only my particular unit and overall opinion, worked the best and operated the best when I had first received it and put it into use which, in that time the software version was showing a version of 1.2. ???, the reason for the question marks an equation, as I cannot, or do not remember the remainder of the following after the 1.2 . Display, occurrences of this nature do happen. There is a mistake somewhere in the operating system for OS updates or upgrades in personal opinion only if I could reinstall or find that particular version personally speaking, it worked the best as some folks have also stated the overall drive and gain of the output was inherently better some folks also state in personal experience of use in opinion these units also sounded somewhat better to a small extent or degree, but I would absolutely say there needs to be a follow up update for upgrade in actuality to straighten out this particular problems, I honestly believe it’s not your unit. It’s these so-called new and improved operating systems. They’re pushing out, as I always say or state it depends where you stand. Some folks are absolutely thrilled with some of the updates or upgrades as they received a vast variety of different type output meters plus others, etc., just speaking for myself again ONLY , I could care less about meters or libraries or whatever etc. I am more in favor of the overall performance and reliability of the unit. Some things should just be left alone unless you precisely and Absolute know exactly of the end result of which starts to transpire absolutely not a good thing. This has been the third or fourth time this has happened to me within the last two weeks after current upgrade again never ever had any type of problem whatsoever, sorry for being a bit condescending leave it alone. I’m absolutely aware of certainly certain upgrades are needed at certain time intervals but not when you take good excellent working units and make them problematic not good from my past experiences with Eversolo I would assume in all likelihood this will try and be rectified as there are several folks that I have come across on this form and others with the exact problems again I think it’s safe to say your unit is fine. The work needs to come from their end as usual, Personally, I would recommend with including myself wait Until Eversolo sends out a supplement upgrade for the update , lol . Or you could certainly perform a factory reset , I could be absolutely incorrect, but I honestly do not lean forward to this rectifying this particular problem, Please have a great week. Thank for the reply that giving me a bit relief on the frustrating issue. we then have to await the coming update (which may or may not resolve this issue ). By the way, I also tried to find a way to report this problem to the service team. After searching through the forum, there is one comment saying "contact Kim" if having problem, but I don't know how to contact him, or that is just a joke, ha ha. I believe this has been confirmed and reported to Eversolo , when it actually gets addressed, Anyones guess, I got caught this time around I Would imagine I didn’t wait long enough as I always do Some days you get the Bear, some days he gets you I’m just getting somewhat tired of him getting me Most times Definitely as of today, oh well could me a lot Worse I suppose, lol have a good one enjoy

Hi nsb , just wanted to pass the following on to you, My A8 locked up 3 times yesterday, the last time approximately 20 minutes apart, I certainly was not expecting that , disconnected all connections to the Unit & performed a Full Recovery or reset. I don’t want to comment to sooon , lol but now my A8 appears to be Back to Normal for the past 12/15 hours. Let’s hope For the best. So far so good ! I'm leaving the A8 at all factory Defaults at this time Until I feel more confident, naturally before any further adjustments or changing values or selections , I’m not going their again lol, you have a great day
Hello Biamp! I'm really sorry you're having problems with your A8. It's a shame, and not normal for recent electronic devices to have issues like this. It's becoming worrying that Eversolo is producing devices that don't seem to last. After the A6 gen2, now the A8 is joining the fray... I hope Eversolo will be vigilant and fix everything. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't have any problems with my T8 and Play. Have a good rest of your day!
Hi Ghislain, well thank you so very much. All is well and back to normal or so it certainly appears, this might sound some what strange however, it seems the factory reset actually did the A8 some good, after full recovery, it seem to operate better than I expected, it seems or appears to actually work a little better and I actually received a few more streaming apps that absolutely were not their before, idk somewhat strange. Perhaps due to the fact the A8 will be approaching 2 years in daily use perhaps needed a good reset, refresh ? This unit had not been fully factory reset as such in quite sometime, .I'm more of a hardware type of audio person as far as skillset, my older good buddy is a software guy, after speaking ,with him earlier he went on to explain to myself, that Lockups in audio streamers are typically triggered through critical failures in management and driver control or Communications , can fail to communicate effectively with hardware , he started to lose me to some degree, I can’t even remember some of what he stated, lol He uses an A6 first gen, but states or claims that it’s absolutely, OS/ software related, seems about correct, I never ever had any problems of such until the current update or upgrade of ,v 1.5.62. However after almost 24 hours of continuous operation, all seems correct, all systems good, back to absolute normal mode of operations, only time will tell .also thankfully I had decided not to replace the stock PSU unit with so called upgraded replacement, as naturally I would had certainly put the fault on such , however I thank you again for your kind words and support , Please have a great week and a wonderful weekend coming up enjoy the music
Hi Biamp! I'm so glad for you that it seems to be working. Yes, it's Android-based. That said, I have an Android phone, and it only needs to be restarted two or three times a year, but not factory reset. I understand that a streamer seems much more complex than a phone. The important thing is that it allowed you to regain all the functionality of your A8 and even more. Have a great day enjoying music with your A8 and everything else!
I am also having this problem with my DMP-A6 sporadically. The only solution that works for me is turn off the unit at the power switch and restart.
Hello John, performing a factory reset may rectify your problem, performing such has successfully rectified my similar problems along with a few other minor malfunctions such as unit lock up or freeze up, I absolutely hesitated in, performing such as I was certainly not looking forward to reinstalling and adjusting my personal settings in accordance with my own use , however, after doing so approximately 2 ,3 , full days of continuous use so far has certainly appears in doing so has absolutely solved all These particular problems. naturally I certainly and hopefully my DMP-A8 keeps operating within the normal or usual manner.
