Hi! I’ve been enjoying music with my Eversolo DMP-A6 for about a year now, and there’s a good chance it will stay in my system for many years to come. Especially since the latest updates with Apple Music integrated, hide/show streaming services etc, it has been a long awaited and great improval! Kudos to the Eversolo team for bringing this new functionality. However, I would love to see the DMP-A6 get a UI overhaul at some point. Here’s some well meant suggestions/wishlist: 1. I would love to see new VU-meters added! I personally think the four we have are a bit too much, and would like to see a more minimalistic and easier-for-the-eyes alternative added. 2. A minimalistic theme mode with just album art, artist/album/song title with bigger(readable from a distance) font size and nothing else! No file format, resolution, etc., just album art and song information I can read from the couch. 3. New and less “old android phone” looking Home Screen. The home screen icons are starting to feel visually outdated, especially since the A8 have a better looking home screen. I guess they want the A8 to feel more premium, but give the A6 some love, would you? I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place or if this is discussed elsewhere.

I've never been much of a fan of the VU meters. Eversolo changed the scale of the classic meter to go up to over +3VU which is ridiculous as the DMP-A6 is purely a digital playback device and a digital file peaks out at 0VU anyway, but I guess they had to pander to those who didn't know any better by presenting these as a "classic analogue VU meter" lookalike. I still consider the VU meters to be a gimmick as they don't actually indicate or respond correctly to the playback signal. I ran a few tests back when I first got my DMP-A6 about a year ago and playing back a 1kHz sinewave tone at 0dBfs didn't show as 0VU on the meters, nor did it track correctly when a lower level tone was played at -10dBfs. The meters should have shown -10 on the scale but they didn't. Also playing back a steady level tone the "needle" shouldn't be jumping around like an epileptic pigmy on a dancefloor. This isn't how VU meters are supposed to display the level of a steady state tone. I haven't checked this out in a while but does the spectrum display still only respond to signals of the left channel? Not that I care, as IMHO both of these are gimmick bling features and I'm not bothered or overly concerned if they work or they don't. I'm only really interested in the basic music server functions performing as they should.
I agree, the VU meters are a gimmick and not actual useful instruments, but they still provide an element of “magic” on those late night listening sessions. Personally, I think they do the trick in that regard. But I also think all of them are somewhat cheesy in an esthetic sense, would love a more simplistic and tasty visual style. The spectrum stuff doesn’t really appeal to me.
I wish Deezer and Apple Music App icons were updated (purple heart instead of the old Deezer icon and note symbol instead of old bitten apple icon), both in Streaming Services section and Deezer in Music Apps section (there Apple App icon is up-to-date)…
I suspect the Apple Music icon was changed to distinguish between the two types of Apple music apps on the Eversolo. The official android Apple Music app and the Eversolo Apple Music app.
Dear developers! Is it possible to make it so that when you turn on a track from an application in your phone (application mode), the Eversolo screen automatically switches to track information or spectrum/VU mode, depending on what was used last? You could add such a setting to the Display menu. And when playing playlists with spectrum/VU display Eversolo should not switch to screensaver mode by timer! It looks strange - the device plays music, it is not standing idle!
