-6 error when connecting to T8

    I've regularly received the following error in the Control App when connecting to my T8.


    Previously I could 'fix' this by removing the app and re-installing it. This would then allow me to re-establish a connection. Recently (last 3~4 weeks) I've not been able to get around the error at all. Same phone, same software level, no change to settings on either the phone or the T8. I have tried clearing cache and data to no avail.

    App version on phone is 1.15.53
    Phone is Samsung Galaxy S22 on Android 14

    I have seen others report this on Google app reviews but no fix as yet?

    Hi there.
    It's highly depended by the network situation. You can do a troubleshooting: using the hotspot from another phone.

    Thanks for the reply Kim. Sadly for your suggestion to work I'd need to use WiFi on the T8 (which I don't) and have another phone (which I don't).

    Your response did however prompt me to try removing my access point from the network and revert back to using WiFi from my router (which I'd disabled) for the initial device connection, which I'm pleased to say is now working. I've now reverted back to using the access point once the app is connected to the T8 and the connection still works. . . for now.

    So, there is possibly something in the initial handshake between the app and the T8 which the access point is blocking - or the T8 doesn't acknowledge? Any pointers before I trawl the logs / tcpdumps?
