For those of you running Jellyfin instead of (or alongside) Plex, I've built JellyfinToZidoo , an app that bridges any Jellyfin client to the native Zidoo player so you get full hardware decoding (Dolby Vision, DTS, TrueHD, etc.) instead of being stuck with software playback.

This project is built on top of PlexToZidoo by bowlingbeeg, which did the hard work of figuring out the Zidoo player integration, SMB playback pipeline, and path substitution logic. Huge...

The original project has been abandoned for quite some time now, and while we all thank Andy for his superb work on this project, I think it's now time to move on.

The official AndroidTV app now works well with the Zidoo player with only a couple of caveats, and seems perfectly workable.

I have used various Zidoo players over the last 5 years. I have stayed with the HT throughout because it works well enough. I have a Synology NAS with a 10GbE port.

I am about to get fiber internet with 5Gbps uplink. I plan to place a new Zidoo 8K player at my other house (also multi-gig down/up fiber) and I would like to allow access to my movies/tv shows.

I am hoping that Jellyfin would work? I have many BDMV and ISO (as well as MKV) so Plex is a no go.
