I'm currently using an "old" zapitti which was flashed into a Zidoo following the demise of the company on my OLED Panasonic TX-55LZ1500.

My question, reading different threads here and there, will I get an improvement image-wise if I change my hardware to a Z9X pro or 8k?
My preference would have been to find a box that can decode ISO DV P7 but unfortunatly it doesn't seem to exist at this point...

It allowed me to position the image right in the middle of the screen, leaving equal black bars above and beyond.

When I try to match or rematch certain movies, I get the error:
"No related Movies or TV Shows were found, please search for other keywords!"
Even though:
The movie filename is properly named (e.g., Inception (2010).mkv)
Metadata folders (.nfo, poster.jpg, etc.) are correctly formatted
Other movies in the same library match perfectly as soon as i added them


Has anyone else experienced this?...

I removed one of the two hard drives from my Zido, and it no longer recognizes it when I put it back in.
It says it's disconnected, so I'm stuck.
So it suggests deleting it, which I do.
But when I try to find it in the source file, it's not there!

I have a jvc HD750 video projector (full hd only).
With the zappiti, movies, whether in bluray x264 or 4k kdr x265 format, were played without any problem. I was even using the hdr to sdr converter with increased image quality.
Going through zidoo, the sdr images are fantastic but the images of the hdr files are washed out, like a veil on it.
I'm in yuv444 10 bits on the projector and zidoo, and sdr709 on the hdr option.

Due to being open source I took liberty to compile fresh apk by patching https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc with changes related to opening external ZidooPlayer taken from https://github.com/zidootech/ZDMC.
I didn't changed logos, application name, application package "org.xbmc.kodi", etc. So if you have already installed Kodi (not ZDMC) it will be overridden.
