Just finished Signs 4k remux DTS-HD MA 5.1 ,and no issues with audio out of synch , so .80 hasnt changed anything for me in that respect

Still got no audio offsets applied ,weird a few have the issue

I did power of via plug , the box ,after the update ,like i always do

One thing im wondering ,if the .80 f/w has broken ,is the Custom EDID

I have it set ,and it hadnt had any of the loss issues i was still getting in first week of .70 f/w (ie after a week of the issues i set Custom EDID,which fixed the loss issue )

when i went to play Signs ,to test DTS audio ,it lost the EDID and started to play the 4k movie as 1080p

I had to go to settings / display and re choose the Custom EDID to get back to correct settings

Just posting as a "something to watch for "thingy :)

Thanks again @blenky - your post has clarified a few matters for me. Up to present I'd never heard of "HDR VIVID" not to be confused with the Regular TV settings for "VIVID" as I'm sure many folks have. That said I did at first, thinking the new setting(s) on the Zidoo with the new firmware, simply enhanced any video piped into it, a bit like by adjusting the Brightness/Contrast/Colour settings on your TV.

So if I have it correct now, HDR VIVID works like HDR / HDR10+ /HLG & DV in that IF (and this seems a big "if") your TV supports it AND you push a Video through encoded with HDR VIVID.

I haven't upgraded my firmware as yet - still on 1.1.70_G - as I like to wait to see what others say first. But I'd like to know if my LG TV, an LG OLED77G26LA supports HDR VIVID. To help I'm attaching my current EDID. Could you or @Markswift2003 comment please, I'd be so grateful

Can you tell me the time of the defect appearing with the movie?
I want to have a look at it when I’m back home.

Using the native Plex app, all my MKV's start with forced subtitles rather than using the correct subtitle flag. This is pretty minor as they can be turned off but I do have to do this every time, and my Nvidia Shield and Roku Stick seem to be able to use the correct subtitle tracks.

The native Plex app also lists the incorrect default soundtrack for each MKV, stating AC3 rather than DTS-Master for example, although it will play the correct default soundtrack.

Yeah - not entirely sure what's going on here - I get the same.

HDR Vivid has 4 different versions and any one video can contain any or all or just one version (versions have different definitions of dynamic metadata).

An HDR Vivid VSDB in EDID defines which versions the display supports and if the content is not any of those versions then HDR Vivid processing is bypassed.

I haven't seen any EDIDs containing the HDR Vivid VSDB, but I do have the specification sheet so I could produce my own, but I'm not sure why the Zidoo shows the HDR Vivid logo - I'd expect it to fall back to HDR10.

It seems to be a hybrid system where there's a balance between TV Led processing and Player Led processing depending on the VSDB as well so I wondered if there was a way of spoofing it - although it's of limited use to us because so far all the content seems to be TX stuff from China.

You see why I've been so confused over it!!

But there is some twisted logic there with what I found yesterday with the delay settings...

Totally agree about the weather, but before it didn't update..........
For the "new image options" I tested briefly last night and I checked on the 3 options, 1 and 3 and unchecked 2!!!!
For now only tested on 1080p and UHD SDR and my image is cleaner, less artifacts and super sharp...........
To test on HDR/DV to see!

Hi, it would be great if someone has found HDR Vivid material, video clips or demos, and could upload it to a download server so that we can at least try out this new option. It would be appreciated, since unfortunately I haven't found anything on the Internet.

So, if I understand correctly, you set Peaking and Dithering to On and Dejaggy to Off and noticed a video improvement?

    Weather works here.

I'd probably turn them all off but honestly it makes little difference unless you're looking at a test pattern.

No, doesn't support HDR Vivid - as I said in another post, I've yet to see an EDID that does.

I've yet to figure out exactly what the box is doing when an HDR Vivid video is played and it reports HDR Vivid on screen...

Well the curiosity got the better of me :D I've updated to 1.1.80_G found some HDR VIVID content and gave it a go. Please see attached pics: -

As you can see I too get HDR VIVID showing (top left of TV screen) and just HDR (top right of TV screen) with confirmation that the content was encoded HDR VIVID.

Can you please let me know what this means exactly on my LG OLED G2 TV - cheers

    Hello
I am on version 1.1.70 for my Z3000 pro and I see that on the site there is only version G to download.
Can I install this one or wait for the zidoo to notify me of an update?
    Thank you
If I understand correctly, the problem of lip desynchronization for dts is still present? It's really a shame, I was hoping for good news from this update.

Completely do this, and yes as said in my message, cleaner, sharper image and fewer artifacts. You have to test it, on the big screen.........you can see the details clearly!
