This is good detective work but seems like bad news for 1.1.80 because when I switch to 150 ms delayed sound on 1.1.70, dts does get fixed and now it seems in 1.1.80 that won’t work anymore?

@blenky, can you confirm that if you put your usual delay of 150 ms on the sound that the DTS comes back in sync with 1.1.80 just like it did on 1.1.70 or not?

If not, I may skip 1.1.80.

 

aaaaa!!! Why did I update! I had no problems with firmware 1.70, now after the update, every 15 minutes the picture freezes, but the sound plays!!! Only a little fast forward helps! What should I do???!!!

I have lyrics working. But I mis a setting that would play them if available.

 

I always did a full reset before and after the update. The first time I didn't and there were a lot of problems!!!

 

A bug with a new advertised feature of music player. In my case, if I search for filename in library it shows me results only if I put one letter, the momment that I continue with the second letter is displaying no data under the filename tab (search). Can somebody tell me if the function is working properly on other devices?

 

My zidoo kept going berserk after the new update up until I sang Soft Kitty to it

 

The new update did not solve the problem with VC-1 files, there is still the same audio delay. As for the LED TV and LED TV passthrough Auto settings, it seems to me that they have even worsened compared to the previous update, but I'm not entirely sure, I need to carry out further tests. This update did not bring any improvements but only Vivid HDR, which probably won't be useful to anyone.

 

So when you play a music file in the music player, the lyrics show on the screen like the prior models?

 

I’m halfway through wolverine & deadpool on this new firmware (MKV, DV rip, Dolby Atmos) and no issues so far that I’ve noticed…..

Edit: OK found one. And yes when played the Zidoo recognises it a HDR Vivid. HDR Vivid logo appears top left and info says VIVID - see attached screen shots

Just to put the cat among the pigeons my sync issue seems to have resolved itself! At the moment I have no delay or pass-through compatible mode set on the Zidoo and on my Denon I have Auto Lip Sync set to on with Adjust value set to 0. I tested all the S&M lip-sync test files and are all spot on.

I can't explain why this happened as earlier today I still had issues with DTS - now all OK. Very odd,

 

I’ve had this issue in 1.70 but infrequently. Image freezes, audio continues. I usually stop and restart and it plays fine but definitely something I never noticed until 1.70.

 

usually jog back a couple secsonds (left side of OK ) and it starts playback fine ,no need to restart usually

 

I am seeing stuttering in DV ISO UHD files play back after updating. Didn’t have this before. Tried a few different movies to be sure. They all had the issue. HDR10 content seems fine. I am not enabling VS10 for anything. I am on Z3000. Using hdfury vertex2 in LLDV mode with my JVC NX7.

 

I experience the same DTS lip sync issues as others, and on 1.1.70 applied a 180ms offset to auto lipsync via my Marantz receiver. Behaviour when applied to DTS sources is identical on 1.1.80.

 

I don't know if this is related, however I was experiencing extreme over-sharpening issues on 1.1.70 (as discussed with @Markswift2003 here). It appeared to be occurring occasionally after the device had gone to sleep automatically. I subsequently thought it was my TV, however have now finally reproduced the issue reliably and it is indeed the Zidoo

With AI image process > AI enhancement > High

- Playing a non Dolby Vision source is fine (example https://photos.app.goo.gl/JSTKDiYmrepog9JY6)

With AI image process > AI enhancement > Off
- Playing either Dolby vision or non Dolby Vision sources are fine

You can view the samples of both the Dolby Vision and non DV sources for clear examples, where I toggle AI enhancement on and off.

Of note is that this is the identical visual issue I reported previously, and at that point it was occurring for me even though AI enhancement was set to Off in the UI. It only occurred after the device automatically slept, and it went away after a full restart. Now that the issue is clearly attributed to AI enhancement I am confident that the Zidoo loses some user preferences after it goes to sleep. This has been reported by other users regarding sharpening and other issues.

 

I watched one of my favourite movies Prey and started Freezing, never done that before.. so there is something funky going on.

 

Hello, another detail for me very important that has been solved with the new firm, every time I connect the external drive where I have the movies to the pc it no longer appears to repair disk, I have tried with several that I have connected to the zidoo and I no longer have that problem and therefore I do not have random loss of content, At the moment I personally have a perfect product, I hope that colleagues who have different problems will be solved and can fully enjoy the Zidoo.
