Hi, just bought this device as un upgrade for my X10, could someone please advise me on what the latest firmware upgrade is please? I am currently on v1.1.70 it's not clear on the Zidoo page as I don't even see the Z3000 listed, also if it makes a difference I could really do with downloading the Google Play store app as I keep on getting "no eligible devices for app install" message at the moment which I presume is because i'm accessing it through the web page? This is stopping me from downloading my IPTV apps, any other tips would be greatly appreciated as i'm a bit of a novice when it comes to other work arounds, side loading etc?
Navigate to this Thread (it's a Sticky"): - v1.2.05, v1.2.05_G Beta version for Z9X 8K/Z30 PRO/Z3000 PRO/UHD8000 and read thoroughly To download you'll need to ensure you download the version v1.2.0.5_G as this will include Google Play Please note though going to a "_G" version is ireversable totally - once on _G always on _G Have a look here too as this gives more information: - https://www.mcbluna.net/wp/zidoo-model-overview/zidoo-z3000-pro-firmware-download/#Z3000-PRO-v1.2.05 Hope this helps
Latest is v1.2.05. No reason why side loading won't work as long as you can download the apks for the apps (whether the apps will work is another matter...). An apk is just an Android installer - much like setup.exe in windows - apk = Android Package Kit. To side load, just download the apk from somewhere (APKMirror for example) and follow this guide: How to install an APK file on a Zidoo box | Zidoo forum
Thanks for the help guys, I tried to side load Google play store but it just won't open also downloader but just get error messages for each code I enter. I guess I'll bite the bullet & download the "G" update, bit nervous putting something that is irreversible on my brand new £500 device but I feel I'll need it, will I miss out on any improvements Zidoo release in the future do you think, or will they find their way to G updates too?
You don't sideload the Google store, you sideload the apk for the app you want to use. G versions will always be updated alongside the standard version, but I like to keep as much Google off my devices as possible (and yes, I realise the irony in an Android device!) but also these players are designed specifically to be local media players and not an Android TV box as such, so I prefer to keep them as clean as possible.
FYI I run the "-G" firmware on my UHD8000 and never had any issue. I updated to it in the false hope that I'd be able to install USB Audio Player Pro (UAPP) but it just wasn't there, unlike when I was running my Z1000 Pro. No luck whatsoever too in sideloading it and have attempted to sideload other Apps too also without any success at all.
Another question I'm afraid, can I just download the latest, it's just that it says v1.2.05 to v1.2.05_G but I'm on v1.1.70 ? I only see v1.1.70 to v1.1.70_G for my current version? I apologise for my newbie ignorance.
You can do it either way - update your current version to G using a patch and then update to current G using the standard online update or you can update online to v1.2.05 and then use the patch to update to G. I'd probably update to v1.2.05 standard version using the Update app (make sure you tick "Receive Beta Version") and then apply this file to update to G: http://apidl.zidoo.tv/Z3000PRO/v1.2...05_to_v1.2.05_G_202503131751_diff-package.zip Then ongoing, you'll automatically receive the G version when updates are available.
I'm really struggling here for some reason, I have tried updating using the Update app (ticking Receive Beta Version as recommended) but nothing is happening it just searches then tells me there is a error & to try again later, so instead I tried via a USB stick, I downloaded v1.1.70 to v1.1.70_G from McBluna as that is the only place I can find it but it doesn't unpack anything it asks me to "select upgrade file" but when I press OK it just cycles through each part and then back to the start - it's like there is no zip file in there, I have also tried this method for v1.1.70 to v1.2.01 yet the same thing is happening? I really don't know what to try next, I used to do firmware upgrades on my X10 ok. Beginning to think there is a problem with the unit? Any help would be really appreciated. Edit: I have made some progress, disappointed that the built in online update doesn't seem to work but was suspicious about the USB not working too because as I mentioned I did have some experience of this on my X10, figured it was either maybe the wrong format on my USB stick on the fact I was downloading on a MacBook, so I did the double insurance of reformatting to FAT32 and downloading from a Windows PC, I'm happy to say I'm now on v1.2.05.G. Although not having much success with downloading something from Downloader at the moment though still, baby steps.........
Hello, The online update for my Zidoo Z300 Pro doesn't offer any updates, even though I'm using version 1.1.60. I'd like to upgrade to version 1.2.05 G via a USB drive, but to do so, it seems I need to upgrade to version 1.1.60 G before upgrading. The problem is that the links from 1.160 to 1.160 G are dead. Can anyone give me a working link? I might also be mistaken, and there might be an easier way to upgrade to version 1.2.05 G. Thanks for your feedback.
Have you tried this link? https://www.mcbluna.net/wp/zidoo-model-overview/zidoo-z3000-pro-firmware-download/ It worked for me. Once you get to 1.1.70G there is a direct update to 1.2.01G then one more update from there should get you to 1.2.05G
Have you got the beta box ticked in the update app? You should be able to update online to v1.2.05 and then use one of these files to update v1.2.05 to v1.2.05G depending which box you have (you say you have a Z300 Pro which doesn't exist, so I don't know if you mean Z30 Pro or Z3000 Pro): https://ota-cloudfront.zidoo.tv/Z30...05_to_v1.2.05_G_202503131649_diff-package.zip https://ota-cloudfront.zidoo.tv/Z30...05_to_v1.2.05_G_202503131751_diff-package.zip
