I connected my Ziddo Z10Pro to 4 HDDs in Fantec HDD enclosures via USB3.
On the Win 10 PC I see the HDD's in Samba, but some files are duplicated or even not visible.
If I create a video source via Samba in ZDMC, then I see the entries twice or not at all.

I am totally new to this Android based device, up until now I had a small htpc without the HDMI 2.0 hence I thought I might give the Z10 Pro a go.

I need to understand why I can't install VLC for instance, I would do that to play some unplayable content (some old full hd content)
How to write the disk through the network I put in (like uploading newly downloaded content)
Youtube won't switch to 4k

aaaand how to reach the normal settings

Furthermore I would love some recommendation like basic know how, how to and what to do after first start

Thanks for the hints, my main issue is that I cannot reach my Z10 Pro from the PC., you mentioned a samba option/configuration, but for me that is not visible under network settings ( I am version 6.0.22, did not try the beta due to some issues mentioned in the comments)

you must install FW 6.0.35 to have the SAMBA server option

 

I found only a beta version of it...
- will I be able to install OTA afterwards?
- Beta...means not final.. does it worth it?

If you want to use the Samba server option it would be better to install the BETA version, you will wait a long time before having a new final version.

I just received my new Z10 Pro today (thanks @futeko.com for fast delivery) and i am coming from a X20 which i was very happy with all the time but i felt it was time to upgrade to the newer 1619 models and had my eyes on the Z1000 Pro first but decided to go with the Z10 Pro. My first impression is very positive! PQ is excellent on all the material i`ve tried so far and i also updated to newest firmware and so far, everything is working fine. Very happy with the upgrade and will do more testing in the coming days.

 

@skelton I just hope you got a Z10 Pro and not a fake X10 Pro
