This scheme works very well for me:
    Code:
    /TV
    /TV/Series Name (2025)
    /TV/Series Name (2025)/Season 1
    /TV/Series Name (2025)/Season 1/Series Name (2025) S01E01 Episode one.mkv
    /TV/Series Name (2025)/Season 1/Series Name (2025) S01E02 Episode two.mkv

The key fields are the Series name, followed by year in round brackets, followed by S two digit number E two digit number (with no spaces between), followed by optional title and then the extension. Leave out any special characters (do not replace them with anything).

I only match everything against TMDB so that all the cast info is correctly cross-linked between TV and Movies. If you don't scrape all the entries from the same source, you won't be able to see all the TV shows that a movie actor is in and vice versa. The only source that has both TV and Movies is TMDB, so for all intents and purposes, that is the only viable matching source.

There are extra options available for labelling Movies, but this does not appear to work for TV series. The Movie help is available on screen:

Thanks. Going to try reimporting the FRINGE 5 season disc set, and hoping revised folders and naming will help.
But also going to try the movie sort.

It works with dots as well... The.Walking.Dead.Dead.City.S02E01
For TV shows matching, you're right, only TMDB will do the job.

Good tip. Part of my issue seems to be many of the files I have use underscores vs spaces or periods. Doh. Got busy last night. Will revisit the import adventure tonight.

  5. Looking for a solution......................just stepped over from a dedicated HT to a WAF appreciated Samsung HW-Q990D soundbar.
I also have a Dune Real Vision 4k and a Zidoo Z9X 8k the latter I connected with a HDMI cable to my one connect box from my Samsung TV (2021) but I get a lot of "lipsync" problems, which can be quite annoying when watching a serie or film. Then I switched over to the Dune and yes you`ve guessed it...........no problems!! WHY??
So, I thought maybe I could connect the Zidoo direct to my soundbar (there are 3 HDMI 1x eARC and 2x HDMI 2.1) but not sure if that would create more problems, thats why I`m here:
    Zidoo>TV connect box OR Zidoo>Q990D??

    My condolences. :(
The 8K models have audio offset settings to combat this.
Well, unless swapping cables is going to be difficult and time-consuming, the best way to find out is to simply give it a go. ;)

Still a little stumped on correct process to import box set of DVDs to have the episodes work properly. Where I have the .iso files already on my old HTPC drive, and not sure how to "properly" rename so that they will work with the zidoo.

    /INVADER ZIM
    /Season 1
    Invader Zim S1 Disc 1.iso
    Invader Zim S2 Disc 1.iso

    /Season 1
    Invader Zim S1.Disc1.iso
    Invader Zim S1.Disc2.iso
    Invader Zim S2.Disc1.iso
    Invader Zim S2.Disc2.iso

Seems like an episode element would have been useful

    /Season 1
    Invader Zim S1Disc1:EP1-2-3-4.iso
    Invader Zim S1Disc2:EP5-6-7-8.iso
    Invader Zim S1.(D1#EP1-2-3-4).iso
    Invader Zim S1.(D2#EP5-6-7-8).iso

Looking at my FRINGE box set and CRINGEing.

Anybody cracked how to import multi-season disc box set?

Is there an automated tool that would just rip all the episodes from an iso image of e.g., S1:d1 and I could then rename each video as S1:E1, S1:E2, etc. ?

Hella stumped. Obviously the more modern bluray discs where I made disc copies with folder of episodes import just marvy.

How do i randomize a playlist in mp8?
Shuffle is not what I'm looking for!

HT5 does not support multi episode discs. You could try.

    Invader Zim (2001) (1#S1 Ep 1-4)
    Invader Zim (2001) (2#S1 Ep 5-8)
    Invader Zim (2001) (3#S2 Ep 1-4)

Isn't that the same thing? How does "shuffle" not randomize on the Zidoo?

    Webster's:
Shuffle : to rearrange (playing cards, dominoes, tiles, etc.) to produce a random order

After going down bunch of rabbit holes on the episodic DVD .isos; I noticed the zidoo supposedly supports .vob files, so going to try copying out the episodes 1,2,3,4 vob files, put in season 1 folder, inside show name and date folder and see what happens. Only posting for those who are looking for this nonsense down the road (I cannot be the only one with pile of series ISO files, of stuff I own, like the box set for FRINGE, TORCHWOOD, etc.).

    dictionairies are clueless!
Shuffle on a music device means : a random song is played next. You will never know what is played after that.
Randomizing a playlist means that the complete list is rearanged in a random order BUT the list order is known! You will know in what sequence the songs are gonna be played.

Its all the same only diffferent! o_O

Gotcha. I'm new here. I guess this works the same way a cheap media player I had decade does - meaning, it doesn't have the ability to "scan all the files" to make a playlist to then randomize. So, if you have 50,000 songs, the buffer only supports randomizing 5,000 songs, then stops. Sucks but how many things work. I hated my old box as it would always bring up this same stupid song with helicopters from a concert at the gorge. Same with iTunes, which I'd hear the same 500 songs all the time, never the deep cuts. I bet it is a buffer size thing here for the "shuffle" function. The only thing I've found to do try random on my CD collection is Media Monkey running on Windows, on an tiny Intel 10th gen NUC, going into a Schiit Bifrost DAC into a Yamaha amp.

Probably some tech guru from zidoo-land might weigh in on the buffer size thing. Might already have been covered for older model. Dunno.

Pardon the intrusion. Sitting here renaming bunch of vob files and needed to change my eyeballs to something else. :)

I've always been frustrated by Zidoo's music shuffling capabilities (or lack thereof).
I have a relatively small library of ~6400 songs, and if I use MP8 to shuffle this library, the same 5-6 albums/artists keep cycling. It's like MP8 is ignoring 90% of my library. :(

Crapy shuffling is the industry standard. Even spotify is clueless.
Randomess is nearly impossible for computers .
I'll bet sorting on track title is more random dan shuffle and you'll get the complete library !

Don't try to put 50000 songs in a playlist.
Unless it foobar2000 on a decent pc!

I don't think that is going to work for TV series. I've had a few attempts at making this work, but only episode numbers will show.

It does work nicely for Movies, as long as all the files in a group have incrementing (Number#Title). If you have even one file that doesn't match that pattern, then none of the additional titles will be shown, just A, B, C, etc.

I have a play list/queue going on the Zidoo that had around 4,000 tracks, however the Android Zidoo Controller app is limited to handling only 2,000 tracks in a play queue.

As suggested above, I have semi-randomised the playlist by choosing to play all tracks that start with the letters E and F. This is fine most of the time, but when you hit something like "Equinoxe" that is present on many albums and compilations, you get the same track playing over and over. Same for various remixes of a song, they all tend to play together.

yeah... ultimate solution seems to be, testing today to simply pull out the VOB files from the DVD box sets I converted to .isos and had been playing on my old HTPC (Nuc, using cyberlink powerdvd). Really not going to miss the HTPC once I sort out all the old box set stuff I have.

new schema test, just pulled out of the mounted iso files

    Invader Zim S1E2.vob
