It's quite a common problem, and I've asked for clarification, but if you get no luck from Zidoo.de, then the plug mentioned above is available from farnell.de (I assume you're in Germany):

This might be a better solution as it comes with 2M of cable and you can fit whatever connector you need on the end.

A standard 3.5mm plug is 14mm deep and per spec, these are 16.8mm - I just measured to one supplied with my Z9X 8K with a micrometer and that is indeed 16.8mm.

As an impatient human being, I ordered the mentioned Cliff part, but I still think that Zidoo should stand in for their design decision (mistake/blunder - choose whatever you deem appropriate) and provide a free adapter for each and every Z9X 8K buyer!

 

So apologies - I got that completely wrong about the adapter - it was my assumption that they would be provided with the Z9X - they will be shipped to suppliers and be available to purchase for about $8.

Just because the specification is not for the standard 3.5mm jack, but the deep socket version, in hindsight it would be madness to supply them in every box - as you say, one in a thousand would use it, and regardless of the specification, it's always up to the user to source their own RS232 connectors, whether 3.5mm jacks for the Z9X or DB9 for the 8000.

 

I hope this firmware for the bdmv Disney problems coming sorts out this micro stutter problem as well because it’s very annoying my zappiti signature it replaced never did that fingers crossed other wise back it goes.

 

the subtitles do not work correctly, the forced ones do not activate, it activates the first subtitle, and I tried to deactivate everything (complete and forced) and it still activates the first subtitle (google translation )

 

I also have an external powered usb on ports no#1 and #2 The number #2 runs at around 25 and the USB port no#1 runs around 90>109. So what is up with that?

 

I have formatted the drive in the Windows PC in exFAT (standard block size) and saved 72 GB and 68 GB films from the PC via SMB without any problems.

Speed is not stable





Search the internet for a solution, maybe it's just a setting thing, or only Zidoo has the problem. I have tested with Dune.

 

Forced and non forced seem to work ok for me. Maybe upload a 5 min sample of one that gives you an issue to somewhere like mega so others can test?

 

Finally and after further testing the sound on my zidoo sounds correct...

 

There used to be a function -> Screenshot. You could programme a button on the Zidoo remote control for this. When it was pressed, a screenshot was saved in a specific folder. You could access it from the PC.
I don't know if this function has been adopted.

As some of the users have got their hand on the new 8K model. Would you like to share your views or opinions on it?

Video quality Compared with the last gen model?
Video quality with AI, Is it really a practically usable thing, Are we gonna see some really good picture enhancements?

The 4K user interface is really a great thing to have on the new sets, enough sharp, crisp to be visibly noticed?
The new Amlogic processor is really a fastest thing when we navigate through options and settings?(Even the last gen zidoo players are fast and responsive enough)
When you play a DV/HDR BD Remux or high bit-rate file, ever noticed the lag in the UI when you navigate through options(subtitles/audio election)? This issue was more evident with the Z9X pro, right?

Has anyone tried "Jellyfish 400mbps" on 8K model? Does it lag like the Z9X pro?

Overall One should should wait till the next gen Zidoo or should upgrade now?

TBH I didn't really notice a difference in PQ as the Z9X Pro already had an excellent picture. I also only have a 55 inch TV so it would have to be a fairly big improvement for me to notice
I love the expanded selection of VS10 options. I quite like outputting just SDR files as DV.
The box is snappier all round and HT5 is great in 4K
I do like full blurays so the improved bluray menu support is a real bonus for me
I don't use the AI features - as I have little low quality stuff where it may be useful
Never noticed lag in the UI when playing high bit rate either on my Z9X Pro or the new box
Not tried Jellyfish on new box - and it played fine for me on my Z9X Pro

The only issues, for me, are Disney UHD blurays (with multiple m2ts files) have audio drop outs on True-HD Atmos
24 FPS files I think are playing at 23.97 FPS - giving a frame skip glitch

Both of these are to be hopefully addressed in next firmware.

There are other issues and requests from other users - but overall I think this generation has got off to a pretty good start.

 

These are definitely the two biggest issues that need to be fixed as soon as possible! Right now I have to completely avoid watching Disney movies and anything with 24 FPS, which makes up a fairly decent portion of my library.

 

I'm the opposite! I have no Disney titles and about 95% of my library is 23.97FPS!

 

Why would a bunch of content be 24 FPS?

 

There are a surprising amount of TV shows from streaming services that are 24 FPS for some reason.

I'd say about 85% of my library is non-Disney and 23.976 fps, but there's still a fairly decent amount of stuff that I simply can't watch right now.

 

Do you have some examples of 24fps shows? I want to do some tests.
