Hi guys. I'm new to the forum. I have had a Z1000 Pro for several years and I really like using ZDMC together with the internal Zidoo player. Now I would be very interested in the Z3000 Pro. I wanted to know if on this new model it is possible to install and use ZDMC together with the Zidoo player as I do now with the Z1000 Pro. Thanks in advance and sorry for any translation errors.

Id like a definite yes its working from someone using it on the Z9X /Z30 8k models

If it isnt ,then i can cancel the Z30 8k ive ordered and save $700 plus NZ :p

But that should then be DSD for DSD64 sources; only (uncommon) higher resolutions should be DSD => PCM :(
It should output DSD => PCM for all formats on the standard HDMI port too. ;)

    @cucnz
I am confident this one will be fixed on the new players as it works with Eversolo. Playing SACD ISO with instant 2CH/MCH switching is one of the main features.

Sorry, yes, options are Auto, D2P (DSD to PCM), Native (DSD Native).

I think my request went unnoticed. I'll try it a second time: I've had a Z1000 Pro for several years and I like using ZDMC together with the internal Zidoo reader. Now I would be very interested in the Z3000 Pro. On this new model is it possible to install and use ZDMC together with the Zidoo reader as I do now with the Z1000 Pro? Thank you.

OK thank you. So I just have to wait when the new models will actually be on the market.

I have no doubt you’ll find out soon enough once they’re released.

Какой плеер лучше, Dune Solo 8K или Zidoo Z30 Pro? Что у них общего и в чем различия?

Can you speak to what the differences are with HT5?

As well, with respect to JVC projectors, can we lean on you to put out guides like you have in the past for setup? With your input, is there any chance that there is an out of the box JVC idiot's preset?

With the Z9X, I've been very pleased using your supplied JVC gamma curves, EDID and setup instructions for LDDV. I understand that you had later switched to having everything output in the projector's native SDR. I didn't make that leap as I'm happy where I'm at A/V wise... but if I'm setting up a new box from scratch... I'd be curious to know if you've tried the 8K both ways (LDDV and SDR conversion) and what your findings have been..

First off - I went back to LLDV :) I found that in the final analysis LLDV provided a better image for my tastes.

To be honest, none of the 8K boxes have found their way into the cinema at the moment, so I still have the Z9X Pro in there. But the 8000 will be in there at some point in the near future.

As for a guide - depends on time and inclination, but the process is exactly the same as the previous boxes, although I would advocate the use of a 400nit LLDV EDID rather than 1000nit now so specular highlights are fully dealt with by the VS10 engine.

    The new boxes include a 400 and a 1000nit BT.2020 LLDV EDID.

So to summarise, with a new box you use a 400nit LLDV BT.2020 EDID, the same gamma curve and the same BT.2020 colour profile and you set all HDR modes to output LLDV.

It'll all make perfect sense when you see one of the new boxes and the HDR options.

Differences in HT5 - for cosmetics see the screen shots at the start of this thread. Other than that, it's speed.

    Interesting.

How does or does this work with the JVC Frame by Frame tone mapping? Will the Projectors Auto (picking SDR or HDR) function still work?

LLDV should work great with DTM.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but it may require an HDFury to spoof an HDR SEI - when LLDV is sent there is of course no HDR message so the PJ will assume it's SDR since it doesn't know what LLDV is. Unless there's a way to set HDR10 manually and use frame adapt.

On my PJ which is way before DTM was introduced, you can create a picture mode with BT.2020 colour and a custom gamma (or use built in, but on the old JVCs that was worse than useless).

By the way, if you want to test a 400nit LLDV EDID there's one here - first one in the list:
